After watching Scream 5 I had an itch for some more so I started watching the 3rd season of the Scream TV Show. It's not bad. It's a MTV show so the writing ain't amazing but I feel like it gets the essence of the Scream movies pretty well. They have the gawd Tony Todd in it and he has a hook lol. He has some good scenes on the show. Overall it's watchable and it's got a decent amount of Black people in it:ehh:

I don’t know what’s worse in terms of child victim shock value - 1) the little girl scene by the window in “From” and her mother, 2) the scene with the abducted little boy in the woods from The Outsider or 3)Dr. Sleep (Rose the Hat with any child)
:damn:
Those scenes linger with you as a parent
:lupe:

Dr. Sleep's the worst for me. I finally watched that first episode of From and I hate to be that guy but that family did everything wrong. Didn't nail the windows shut, pops was drunk napping when he needed to be home, the mom stood in the doorway instead of running to the window right away, and the little girl's like "you don't look like grandma...whatevs, I'll let you in stranger"...Darwin Awards level failure.

The show got me hooked though, I'm excited to see wtf the deal is with all of it. I assume the Lost creators won't do a "they're all dead" plot...

I feel like X-Files is the prime example of why most shows don't need to go past 5 seasons and should max out at about 16 episodes a season. That alien subplot just dragged and dragged and dragged forever. They even made 2 movies about the shyt. The best episodes had almost nothing to do with it outside of the shyt with Mulder's sister and the train episode. Also it's criminal how little they used X in hindsight. Fringe had the benefit of less seasons and a more linear storyline which makes it look better in retrospect.
I lump X-Files in with Supernatural as shows that went on past their expiration date and that let the mythology aspect of their shows become unwieldy beasts that bogged the shows down while the "Monster of the Week" shows became the bright spots and produced the best episodes.

Which was better XFiles or Fringe??
:jbhmm:

FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is assigned to the bureau's Fringe Division, in which she investigates unusual crimes and occurrences. Assisting Olivia in her investigations are once-institutionalised scientist Dr Walter Bishop, his jack-of-all-trades son, Peter, and FBI Junior Agent Astrid Farnsworth. As the team investigates cases of science gone awry, they discover connections to their own past and to a parallel universe. As the team explores life and solves cases in these interconnected worlds, new discoveries and complications continue to arise.

Fringe was better to me..
XFiles was Dope too..
But Fringe was just more my taste..

X-Files had the better one-off standouts to me. Fringe was the better overall narrative.

This scene and this episode from X-Files haunted me from the moment I saw it in the mid-90's.

:picard::picard:
what in the who? I haven’t watched this episode yet. But I’m about to now. That was brutal. This is one those horror moments when you know as soon as you hear “happy” upbeat music playing in the background, something truly fukked up and demonic was about to go down. Like “tip toe through the tulips” type of time from insidious and “perfect day” Lou Reed - You’re Next.
:francis:
Edit- looks like I did watch it some time ago, it says I played it on Hulu . This was one of those “most controversial episodes”, I must have looked it up before.
