I literally sent out a blast text with the candyman trailer link to my friends and family and lot of them totally forgot about the film coming out. It seemed like I am putting more work to advertise the film than Universal. And yes I do understand studios do not put a lot of ad money into horror flicks, but damn this movie was produced by Jordan Peele right?

Those dumbass hollywood white hyped overrated Jordan Peele knockoffs like “Them” “Spiral” “civil war” “antebellum” saturated the market so now they think bc we had enough of the horror torture porn; we don’t want to see the classics. Candyman is not the same.

I had a feeling this was going to happen - we had that influx of that Lila waithe character arc fugazi feminazi black torture tales of woe for white audience appeal , trying to copy Jordan Peele’s formula. Cornering in on his expertise. I hate that reckless swagger jacking movie hacking bytch. I really do.

They can at least air a shortening trailer. One spot would be all they need to create a buzz.

They’ve ran trailers homie. Seen them on tv. Also not watching the finals but I’ve seen them on Syfy.

And I haven’t watched any of the major networks much this summer to tell you what they’re promoting or not promoting. Finals just feels like the right spot to run a candyman spot. Studios buy ad spots in bulk tho so keep us posted if it runs or doesn’t run. And again I ain’t watching so

All facts! All those knockoffs might have hurt the interest of Candyman because people may assume "oh another black torture film" and the whites will say "oh another woke film".

Look man horror doesn’t need much advertising for real. If you tell people it’s coming out on a Friday they’ll go see it that Friday or Saturday. Horror is cheap and disposable by Hollywood’s standards. Makes all the money but has no respect. And they mostly rely on word of mouth advertising because they don’t want to spend money on it.

I don’t think candyman is going to live or die based on advertising. It’s a horror movie dropping at the end of the summer. That’s a great spot historically

You right, that Halloween ad on the finals had me salty. But knowing they are showing ads on other networks I am all good. My ass does not even watch network TV so I assumed the worse.

Anyway, the movie will be fine. I don’t recall a major horror movie from a major studio failing at the box office recently because of ad dollars. That shyt just doesn’t matter with horror. Even if you go back for he exorcist, word of mouth is what made it what it is today.

I watched this movie called HELL HOUSE LLC the other day. It's on Amazon Prime.
I only watched it because I saw this image somewhere and it made me curious:

This movie was a steaming pile of garbage and I am mad at myself for falling for the okie-doke. I bet all those tweets were from people who worked on the movie.

Not sure if I'll watch this though...I didn't like the first hell House LLC at all so I never bothered to check out the sequel.

Decided to watch the entire Hell House LLC trilogy today to see if I might have been too harsh in my assessment of the first movie which made me not even bother with the second and third ones.

Anyhoo...my first instincts were correct.
