I have friends that’ll put subtitles on even when watching English stuff. I don’t get it. My eyes just stay on the words and I don’t get much of the actual movie.
I watch subtitles regardless of its English, Spanish, etc etc - it helps to hear every word bc sometimes the actors mumble, or talk too low, sound is too loud in comparison to the voices. I’ve been using subtitles for so long; That it’s not really a distraction. But I know most people hate it - I always have to change my settings when my friends come over or with my parents. My mom acts like I personally offended her bc she thinks close captions/subtitles are only for deaf people.

:picard::picard:
I think that I have severely underrated Netflix- they were holding out on horror, for a reason. this might make up for all those garbage dubs they’ve been releasing

Winter Brings New Threats to the Zombie Apocalypse in Season 2 of Netflix’s “Black Summer”! [Trailer]

Nowhere to hide. No one to trust. No way to know who’s next.

The intense zombie series “Black Summer” is headed back to Netflix for its second season on June 17, 2021, and the official trailer for the new episodes has been released today.

A whole new vibe is brought to the world of “Black Summer” in the second season, which actually doesn’t even take place during the summer. Rather, it’s going to be a Black Winter…

The forecast calls for snow. And zombies. Preview the undead mayhem below!

Set in the dark, early days of a zombie apocalypse, “Black Summer” stars Jaime King as Rose, a mother torn from her daughter who embarks upon a harrowing journey to find her.

“Thrust alongside a small group of American refugees, these complete strangers must find the strength they need to fight their way back to loved ones. But in order for Rose and her team to brave this hostile new world, they will need to make brutal decisions to contend with zombies – and each other.” It looks like the second season picks up where the first left off…

In Season 2, “Winter comes with cold-blooded new challenges during the zombie apocalypse as frantic scavengers and violent militias battle the dead and desperate.”

The 8-episode season’s cast also includes Justin Chu Cary, Christine Lee, Zoë Marlett, Bobby Naderi, Kelsey Flower, andBechir Sylvain. And John Hyams is back as showrunner.

Unlike the RL Stine that I watched/read back in the day that were all PG rated, they gave this trilogy the Rated R treatment. (Makes sense bc as his targeted audience of teens back then, we’re all grown up now and if you were a horror fan in your youth, 99% chance that you still are)

Fear Street on Netflix: R.L. Stine gets rated R in new movie trilogy

The Fear Street books from horror author R.L. Stine are making a comeback as three Netflix movies being released back to back. The '90s series spanned more than 50 books, with the source material slightly scarier than Stine's other popular book series, Goosebumps -- and that's reflected in what Stine himself describes as R-rated horror.

Netflix dropped the Fear Street teaser trailer on Wednesday, showing a series of murders taking place in the town of Shadyside over a period of 300 years. Fear Street Part One: 1994 will debut July 2, followed by Fear Street Part Two: 1978 and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 on July 16.

It's been like 85 years since this show first aired; I'd almost forgotten about it.
Should've renamed it Black Winter though.

And it would be highly novel if a zombie movie/TV show was made where the greatest threat to humanity wasn't humanity itself but instead was the legions of undead cannibals that wants to eat humanity's face off.

That’s a dream scenario of a horror movie for me - do you know how much I’ll be looking forward to this??? Hush your slanderous mouth.
:deadrose::dahell:

That’s like if you men had a marvel studios production combined with The Thing combined with whatever you like - thread theme would be 10 pages by now. You let me enjoy this; keep your comments to yourself. You’re not ruining this experience- no way in 3 from hell.

Exactly this!! That’s where The Walking Dead fell off for me- all of the infighting instead of the zombies; turned a series that began as a horror series with zombie attack apocalypse into a zombie soap opera with too much drama and no action.

I only went so far with Black Summer - Season 1 ep 5, because I forgot about it lol. Even though it’s been on my watch list forever. But you’re right- Black Winter is much more Foreboding and darker. Im re-interested. I’m going to rewatch season 1 and where I left off. Not like I can be too picky these days.
