First of all learn your basics.
Each part of the firearm has its own name for a reason. You have magazines for your glock, not clips. Then if you havent, get your fukking ccw. Not only do you need the education, but you will want to be certified through your state. Don't go searching online for some $35 ccw class because it's probably not worth the paper it's printed in. You take one of those classes the state can still deny your application or if the trainer gets his license revoked your ccw becomes invalid. A good ccw is going to cost somewhere in the $100 range. Should be from a reputable place could be $175, might be on sale for a day for $85.
I literally have a friend that got hemmed up in August. He could be facing up to 20 years, but as of 3 weeks ago his lawyers came back at the state with all if his applications and renewals and told them "if people like him are getting federal firearms licenses, purchase permits, concealed carry, and other stamps and tags with no issues then when they get arrested there's suddenly a bunch of issues they aren't the problem, you (the state) are.
