Some streets that were 2 lanes before are now only 1 lane. That plays a part I suppose. South side is becoming like the North side.
Also, the Red Line or "Robbery Line" has people more reluctant to take it.
Yea my girl swore off the red after one too many random dipshyts walking between carts either panhandling or rapping. Someone got stabbed some months back and she said fukk it. Now exclusively rides the purple or brown when she has to.
The most sensible way to travel the city right now is by bike and the infrastructure unfortunately isnt there to sustain it safely from corner to corner. I bought a basket for my bike and may get another and switch my grocery shopping on weekends to bike only.
