Man why you hating on the Charlos so hard.

This is the exact moment where if at any time, it’s time now to give them both respect. nikkas have been calling Mell “Diet Charlo” and I called him DaOther Charlo cause I think Mall is better, but a year ago irrelevant...they earned whatever reception they get. I had to salute them and I ain’t picking against them ever again.

J Rock was The People's Choice and heralded as a Hopkins type of Philly fighter on the rise....Mall destroyed him.

Lubin is a beast and extremely skilled....even dominating other Boxers in training on a regular basis.....Charlo got him outta there and treated it like easy work.



Give them boys their props. The Charlo's are forreal. Lubin will bounce back, but Mell deserves 1000% credit for beating a fighter thought of as that quality at 154.

to be fair..the reason little charlo wasnt taken as seriously was he didn't have the power of big charlo plus when he won his title his power bailed him out when he was getting outboxed like crazy..and now he bodied both his mandatories

Diet Charlo was getting outboxed in his title winning effort, but nikkas act like he wasn't competitive at all and was just getting his ass kicked pillar to post which isn't true. This wasn't Bey vs Molina.

Diet Charlo always had pop on his punches with a good jab and skill foundation. It's just that he wasn't overly impressive in the way he fights. He looked bland in a lot of his earlier bouts. He wasn't sitting down on his punches enough and putting that passion into his shots.

Power just ain't a physical thing, it's mental too. You gotta actually believe you can hurt a guy and be willing to do so. Some nikkas have decent power, but they believe in their boxing more than their power. Clottey was like that. Mikey Garcia is a guy that believes in his boxing, but also believes in his power too. He got a good balance.

On the flip side. Canelo believes in his power too much.

If you notice once Trout gassed...he stopped the holding N smothering N Hurd was able to punch more/not get smothered

I been said nikkas were sleeping on Charlo tho. I don't know how many of these prospect/fringe contenders they gotta body before their taken serious.

Those Charlo uppercuts are this era's Tito's left hook.

Lubin tried to put cheat codes in FN career mode by jumping from club fighter to undefeated seasoned title holder and that shyt backfired.

Talent is good, but that shyt is like the special effects of boxing. You gonna need more than that to make a good film/boxer. I know Spence didn't really face a threat before Brook, but Brook wasn't as dangerous and had already caught that GGG work. That was at least worth the risk. Meanwhile Diet Charlo hitting his prime and really putting extras on his dragon punches.

I didn't see the Hurd fight yet, but from the lil clips it looked like he was getting smacked around until he got his big man on. I can already tell he's gonna be one of those guys that look beatable but somehow always finds a way to put hands on you and win....much like OG Swift. That's special in itself really.
