What do y'all think about this recent HBO-Jacobs-Matchroom thing?
Boxingcene writes Haymon remains the adviser and manager of Jaacobs! So the cold war is really over I guess...? Except maybe Golden Boy vs Haymon but it's hard to imagine that they won't work together if HBO invests in Jacobs in middleweight which can mean a possible Canelo fight down the line.

What happeed with HBO though? This move is also a message that they are not planning to be out of the sport.
I can be very wrong but for me it seems like they were about to be out of boxing, less and less budget, less and less fighters but this great 2017 came with fresh buzz around the sport and big ratings also for HBO (the two Canelo fights) so they decided to reinvest and refresh their roster with new names. Now they signed Jacobs, they show interest toward Inoue and Sor, the whole 115 in general, rumors that Andrade will continue there too and Jarrell Miller also gonna box on HBO on the 11th of November, same card as Jacobs.

Also another thing... A Jacobs vs Arias fight mean that Haymon now works with Roc Nation too? :dwillhuh: Cause Arias is with Roc Nation.

Chaotic times... but in a good sense

still... when I hear xy signed an "exclusive" deal with a channel I gotta start thinking about which fights become impossible to make now
luckily nobody important in mw or smw has exclusive deals with other channels so on paper Jacobs can fight everyone

Damn didn't realize Haye/Bellew 2 was on. I don't think this is a repeat of the last one. Haye was damn near crippled :patrice:

I'm still picking Haye on the rematch

Bellew is one of the biggest overachievers out there now. Based on his talent and skills he really shouldn't be where he is but he has a strong will and self believe and he got luck on his side too so here he is. :yeshrug:
He was a B level lhw who got bombed out by Stevenon rather easily I never thought he would have success in cw to begin with not that in hw...

It ain't hard to tell. Haymon ultimately does what the fighter wants. He just makes strong decisions but the fighter has to sign off. Jacobs manager was speaking with Eddie Hearn, who's trying to sign more US fighters and build a promo presence here. Hearn informed him that he can get Jacobs a deal with HBO, who has more $ to spend. Jacobs realized the PBC middleweight route is scarce, with potential fights with only Charlo available. But the best middleweights fight on HBO. Team Jacobs took the deal to Haymon, who saw the logic and rewards of if, and ultimately gave his blessing.

Some PBC guys take what they're given, others strive for more.

Kownacki or miller vs whyte next?
it's on the Matchroom card so possible... :ehh: Miller will be another American Hearn signing?
He also signed Chisora though so wondering if he won't make Chisora vs Whyte II instead, he could probably sell more i the UK with that.
With that said I'd be cool with Miller vs Whyte and Kownacki vs Chisora on the Jacobs card
