Yall still refusing to believe huh?
That footwork isn't just used for offense...it's applied defensively as well. If Loma didn't throw so many punches, and threw less like Sweet Pea/Floyd, then nikkas would hardly ever lay a glove on him. You don't embarrass both Russell (one of the fastest fighters in the sport period) & Walters (one of, if not thee hardest puncher in the division) in the fashion Loma did without defense
It's not like he bombed them out...just straight out boxed em both

man... I said "defensively more responsible" plus how can you think it's not a compliment that I compared his style to Pac's?
I don't like Pac as a human but he was a great fighter so that's a compliment.
Loma's style reminds me of Pac more than of Floyd or Sweet Pea but that's not a criticism.
I don't see the defensive/expert slick boxer/counter guy like Floyd/sweet pea/benitez like people(hbo) are tryna force for whatever reason.
naw .....hes good but hes not what people are saying. ive never seen nothing wrong with comparing a guy to pac who many still believe is the best fighter of this gen.
when did I say he didn't have defense...I said he takes more chances and any boxer that does that will get hit more and open for big counters....that a fact.
pac has defense......lol pac can box......lol pac has a jab....... yall acting like pac is some bum fighter now just cause he lost to may and got koed by jmm
salido fight proves his defense is very good but not may/sweet pea type (which we will never see again anyways). dude got hit with the same left hook over n over. even krack agreed when I showed him the gif and he was like it cause he fight southpaw. so how am I hating or not doubting him defense wise.
roach says craw compares to may but I have never cosigned such foolishness. nikkas need to understand that im a hard critic of my own fighters so don't take offense of what im saying bout anyone else....im just that type of nikka.lol![]()

Because Loma's defense is much better than Pacquiao's and that is what @hyperman25 was talking about...his defense:
Comparing him to Pacquiao is a lazy comparison bc Pacquiao doesn't slip, counter, or turn his opponents like Vasyl Lomachenko does. They have a few similarities offensively, but Lomachenko is more varied in his punches than Pacquiao is as well.
okay......if I have time. ill come back with gifs bro.
so don't hold ur breath but we'll continue this. loma is legit im just tryna compare him the right person that's all.
I don't think you can compare him to anyone really.
He's not Sweet Pea/Floyd, because he's much more aggressive offensively fighting on the inside.
He's not Pac, because he throws more variety, and uses many more subtle defensive moves than Pacquiao has in his arsenal.
Harold Lederman gave you a great comparision, and the MOST accurate as far as Im concerned:
That's the closest I've seen to anything resembling what Loma does![]()
yeah he does but his footwork/angles and combo punches are way quicker...that's why I keep thinking pac...lol
but yeah good stuff....them old hbo geezers know boxing a bit they just biased as fukk.....![]()
Definitely biased, but yeah...they been around forever, so they have names on deck
Larry Merchant used to do good comparisions too, because of course, he was another old Boxing head
Bert Sugar
Cliff Rold is another one who does great comparisions as a Boxing historian
He typically says a name, and then I go look them up on youtube (as I did Lederman's Pep/Loma name drop) and be like "I can see that
"
Loma has a Andre Ward skill set and fight style with more sharpness and slightly more intangibles skillset wise, he needs to improve his foot work he also lean out to the same side instead of moving his feet; people that aint afraid of his pitty pat punches and walk him down will force him out of his element; he needs a Salido rematch like Arum states, if he ducks that there is a mental chink in his armorI was trying to put it down who he reminds me of the most, and I came up with a combination of Pac/Floyd/RJJ. Obviously I'm sure there are some old school fighters I don't know about that he was influenced by, both those are the three I see.
He fights like Floyd not because of the D, but because he fights in the pocket almost exclusively. Instead of being on the front foot pivoting, he does a lot of lateral movement and upper body shifting, but all from the pocket. Very interesting.
