To me the most important thing isn't if there is an upside. Everyone is getting enamored with the fact there could be an "upside". The upside could be complete bullshyt and not amount to much money. We don't know. I don't have a problem if GGG's team agreed and GB offered a flat fee and upside that equaled a fair division of the pot.Copp is wrong and is just repeating rumors... Oscar has already said they would get an upside, but that it wont be up for negotiation.. people are taking it as if there wont be an upside
Canelo/khan did close to 600k and that was a mismatch as well
I misread that. Yeah, Floyd is still the PPV king. Staying away probably actually helps him. The PPV market was/is soft and there was turn off from the Pacquiao fight. But, you know people will tune in to see Floyd if he comes back. Especially if he fought the Garcia-Thurman winner, which will get a good CBS showing. He was asking does Floyd vs Garcia/Thurman do more than Canelo/GGG....and I think so.
Floyd is MUCH bigger than Canelo. He did 550k vs Berto in a fight where everyone was on board with Berto losing clearly beforehand, and who has no fanbase to speak of
Floyd vs Thurman or Garcia (whoever wins)? I think does at least a milli or close to it![]()

I guess it comes down to the fact we don't know exactly what GB and K2 are estimating fight revenue to be. It is possible that $10 million plus an "upside" could be an incredibly small portion of the overall pot. That is why we can't condemn before we even know the situation. Most outside people I have seen have felt that a Canelo-GGG pot should be split somewhere in the neighberhood of 66% Canelo, 34% GGG...now I am not saying that is what negotiations should or will be, just saying what is being reported. But if $10 million or $10 million plus an upside is like 85/15 split of their projected fight revenue, GGG's team would be foolish to take it.
Again the whole number, wherever it comes from, should come from projected fight revenue. This fight should easily get to high 6 figures on PPV and I wouldn't be surprised if it did close to a milly or over. You'll have 80k + fans at Cowboys Stadium, plus good international rights, sponsors, and you damn sure we counting them hot dog sales. I think people are too easily enamored with GB's first offer. It is doing exactly what ODH wanted it to do. It sounds good when reported, so people are going to put pressure on GGG. But people in the industry and who know the possible financials of this fight are calling bullshyt.

You should use that the next time he's copping pleas.

Or you might get blocked and we can't get these exchanges like right here.

Yall think floyd vs garcia/thurman would do more than canelo/ggg?
Oscar already stated that there would be an upside while you're wasting time twitter fingering about rumors and about what Doug fischer "thinks"
