That was the wrong decision by GGG...this is the 1st move that can realistically be held against him, all hate/stanning aside.

He drags up Kell Brook from 147 to Middleweight to fight him, but asked for Ward to come to 164? Asked for Froch to go to 168? Wont fight Lara who's a 154 pounder? None of the 168lbers were good enough?

They blew it with this decision. If a 160lber cant keep GGG off of them, what can a 147lber do:snoop:

This is MUCH worse than Canelo vs Khan or Canelo vs Liam Smith imo:manny:

It's a bytch move that tarnishes GGG image, but fight wise I disagree that its worse than Khan/Canelo. Simply because when people talk about the match ups between Khan/Brook and Canelo/GGG mostly everyone says Brook and Golovkin would win.

Just like how Swift vs Floyd was potentially seen as a better fight than Canelo/Khan since its both of their conquerors facing off. And both are undefeated (just like GGG vs Brook)

What really makes this look bad is that they dangled the fukking Eubank fight in front of us which is what everyone was hyped for and then they pump faked. :what:

The Liam Smith fight is just a bad fight all by itself. No need to bring that up since the Charlos, Andrade, Jrock, GGG, are all better fights at 154.

This is boxing Karma for Brook though. He's always facing no hopers, now he's finally the one that has no hope. :mjlol:

Man 2016 is becoming an epic year in boxing. Hopefully we'll get Crawford vs Stevenson this year to end things.

ERISLANDY LARA RIPS GENNADY GOLOVKIN FOR FIGHTING KELL BROOK: "CANELO AND TRIPLE G ARE TWIN BROTHERS"
By Ben Thompson | July 08, 2016

erislandylara2.jpg

"Actions speak louder than words. Triple G will fight a 147-pound guy, but wouldn't fight me, who's 6 pounds away," stated jr. middleweight champion Erislandy Lara, who reacted to the breaking news that unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will defend his titles against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

Lara, who has made it clear on several occasions that he's more than willing to step up and face the hard-hitting Golovkin, was unimpressed with the fight announcement. "As far as I'm concerned, Canelo and Triple G are twin brothers," Lara explained during a brief conversation with FightHype.com. He added, "Typical business first and not old school throwback fighters."

The balls on Kell Brook though. GGG stanning aside, we all laughed at Brook when he said he wanted to make a fight vs. GGG and he actually meant it.

Personally I don't understand the fight on either side. I think Eubank would have gotten more respect as an opponent at the 160 weight class. And Kell Brook had real intriguing options at 147 (Vargas, Spence, Khan). From a financial perspective this fight is great and Brook is better than Khan (but it is still a 147 lb'er drug up).
Word is Eubank thought he was more important than he was and played himself out of the fight and he wouldn't commit. Brook said he accepted within minutes.

Honestly I stan GGG, y'all know that. From the perspective of a big name fight it is good for GGG's popularity, but not good from the perspective of putting him against a competitive 160 pounder. I know the hardcore fans care more about seeing GGG against a tough 160 lb'er...not sure what the opinion is from the casual.

Does this mean Brook felt 147 was hard to make and is planning on a move up, maybe to 154 after this fight, or is he going back down?

The thing is at least it is interesting. Canelo vs. Khan was interesting. We knew who would win, but it was interesting as an event. I never denied that. We couldn't act like Khan was a true threat to beat Canelo, but the matchup was intriguing. This feels the same.

Ex-world champion Ruenroeng TKO’d by 21-year-old amateur, Ex-champ N’Dam loses by shut out to 23-year-old amateur

In shocking lightweight final, former IBF flyweight world champion Amnat Ruenroeng (17-1, 5 KOs) of Thailand, rated #8 by the WBO and #9 by the WBC at flyweight, was stopped by 21-year-old amateur Lindolfo Delgado Garza of Mexico in the second round on Friday on the final day of the APB/WSB Olympic qualification tournament in Vargas, Venezuela. Stunning result considering until just six weeks ago Ruenroeng was a world champion.
Despite the humbling loss, Ruenroeng will still advance to the Rio Olympic Games.

In a lightweight box-off for an Olympic spot, unbeaten WBA #11 featherweight Carmine Tommasone (15-0, 4 KOs) of Italy, a former EBU-EU champion, edged 21-year-old Yasin Yilmaz of Turkey to get into the Rio Games.

In the light heavyweight final, former WBO interim middleweight champion Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (33-2, 19 KOs), who is currently rated WBC #6 and WBO #8 at middleweight, lost a one-sided three round unanimous decision to 23-year-old Colombian Juan Carlos Carrillo. Carrillo, a big puncher, stalked N’Dam the whole fight and won 30-27 on all three cards. Like Ruenroeng before him, N’Dam N’Jikam will advance to the Rio Olympic Games despite the loss.

Get KO'd and dominated by amateurs brehs:mjlol:

@patscorpio look at this:snoop:

Ehhhhhhhh Amateur game and pro game is so different. But that's no excuse for a TKO :what:

Imo, I see the talent gap between the clear cut best Middleweight in the world, who has KOd 22 Middleweights in a row, at the FULL 160 weight limit vs a Welterweight who's best opponent ever faced is Shawn Porter, and was almost KOd by Carson Jones in their 1st fight, as a little wider than Canelo vs Khan is for the simple fact that Khan's resume is > Brook's and he has accomplished more than Brook, plus Canelo fought him at 155 (and not 160) and Canelo isn't as devastating a puncher as GGG is.

Kell Brook has even less of a chance to beat GGG at the full 160 limit than Khan had to beat Canelo at 155 imo. I don't think anyone beats GGG at 160.....let alone a 147lber.

MARCOS MAIDANA STRONGLY CONSIDERING A COMEBACK; SOURCES SAY HE COULD BE IN CAMP AS EARLY AS AUGUST
By Ben Thompson | July 08, 2016

marcosmaidana2.jpg

Sources close to the situation have informed us that former world champion Marcos Maidana is in the process of planning his comeback. We're told that Maidana recently flew in from Argentina and will soon be meeting with adivsor Al Haymon to discuss his future plans. Although Maidana has not officially made a final decision about returning, sources say members of his team have already started making plans for a training camp as early as August.

It's been nearly two years since Maidana's last performance inside the ring, a unanimous decision loss to retired undefeated former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather. It was Maidana's second fight with Mayweather, an immediate rematch that came together thanks to a competitive first fight. Since then, Maidana has been enjoying the millions of dollars that his two fights with Mayweather earned him. So much so, in fact, that Maidana has ballooned up in weight well past the 147-pound division that he once fought in. It's rumored that his current weight is upwards of 190 pounds. If he does ultimately decide to return, it's unclear what weight he'll fight at, but we're told Maidana himself still has eyes on the welterweight division.
