Why not unify 168 instead?

168 has better opponents there for him than 160 does. Why not move up 1 division and unify a tougher division?:manny:

thats my thing...on here the 168 champions are discredited as not being top fighters..with the exception of badou jack..who most werent rocking with before or after he got ko'ed on shobox until the groves fight

i like echols but that dude fell apart..he didn't beat anyone at MW..he just gave Bhop a couple of tough fights loaded with fukkery lol..thats all he did at that weight

Roy Jones Jr, Oscar De La Hoya, Tito Trinidad, Keith Holmes, John David Jackson, Jermaine Taylor, Antwaun Echols, William Joppy

If after 31 fights GGG had a Middleweight resume with names like that on it, he'd get the respect for it. Unfortunately, his resume is average at best after 35 fights and doesn't match up, so bringing up Hopkins is definitely premature.

I get where yall coming from but I think he just down there chasing that big money fight with canelo. That's his biggest money option with a chance to become a bigger star. BUT I do feel like he maybe need to move up but then again there are no big money fights at 168 either

Super Middleweight gets more respect than Middleweight and has for years. I'd be more impressed with GGG knocking out bigger guys than knocking out a whole bunch of "never weres" at 160.

If Cotto, never a true Middleweight, can KO a larger opponent at Middleweight that GGG fought & faster and cleaner than GGG could, that makes me give 0 credence to the current batch of "Top 160 lbers":yeshrug:

and this is where i say about bhops 90s MW competition...youre looking at just names breh..john david jackson was at the end of his line, keith wasnt that great..joppy as well...taylor is a weird one to place since he struggled to beat bhop the first fight (which i thought he did) and the second fight (which i thought he did not)..echold was clear tier below keith, joppy, and taylor

Nawl breh...he would crush Lara. Lara is a good fighter but he just hate to get hit. I lost faith in Lara after he blew it against Canelo by running too damn much.
Yeah lara would do the same against 97g. K2 needs to let 97g fight lara tho, if he can ko lara, that makes the canelo fight even bigger. Plus he would be 97g's biggest win ever.

True true yea you right GGG shouldve been scalped Lara just for name recognition alone. Wat better fight shan the Monroes, Wades, and them generic eurocacs he's been fighting.. I thought yall was saying Lara would beat GGG

we are not talking about daniel geale right because the last i checked it was the other way around breh..if that was the case of 168 id expect to hear brehs talk about positive about sturm, degale, and now ramirez..and 2 of them are pretty discredited right now...168 has had no big fights on the level as middleweight in the last decade ..not since joe cal beat kessler to unify..ward-froch fell way short of that..the biggest fight in boxing that can be made today is at middleweight

Nah I gave up on lara he has the tools but I don't think he really love boxing. Seems like he's in it for the check and only the check.

If Lara has another struggle fight with Martirosyan we need to dead this GGG talk. That first Lara-Martirosyan fight. :scust:

GGG has already brought up 2 guys from junior middle during his run in Rosado and Monroe. Preferably I'd like to see Lara do something against a credible middleweight but if he handles biz against Vanes I can accept them fighting in September if Canelo walks.

Speaking of Canelo, if he holds firm to his "No GGG in September" stance, who does he fight? The PBC titleholders are off the table at 154. I think it's no coincidence that Golden Boy has 2 middleweight matchups on the undercard (Lemieux-Tapia, Stevens-Teixeira). The winner of either of those fights would work and be easy to make (Lemieux ain't making 155 tho :lolbron:).

Canelo needs to start coming in at the 160. I think the Caneloweight does his stamina no favors and he'd be even more explosive and fresh.
