nikka please . koing washed up champs mean something now.:russ:

let him fight fonara, alvarez or even thomas before making wild statements about him being the best.

we will see but ,he looks very one dimensional for now.
I disagree with this breh. If you look at his offense he definitely is not a one dimensional puncher. He sets his shyt up nice behind the jab.

yeah, but that last breh outboxed him in the middle of the ring.

he cuts off the ring good too but still hard to judge imo cause of weak comp.

Malignaggi Slams Fans Who Are Critical of PBC MovementPosted by: Carlos Boogs on 7/6/2015 .

By Carlos Boogs

Former two-division world champion Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi is shocked with some of the critical comments that are flying from fans on the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) series.

Manager/adviser Al Haymon, through his company Haymon Boxing, started the PBC series in March on NBC/NBC Sports. Since then, PBC has locked up television deals with Spike TV, Bounce TV, ESPN/ABC, Fox Sports 1 and CBS/Showtime.

This coming Saturday night, PBC will make it's debut on ESPN with Keith Thurman defending the WBA 'regular' welterweight title against the former beltholder Luis Collazo.

Malignaggi will headline next PBC card on ESPN, when he faces undefeated Danny Garcia on August 1st.

He feels fans should appreciate the abundance of boxing on television with PBC staging multiple shows a month across various networks.

"I think it's positive. There is nothing to complain about. Fans are weird. Boxing fans are weird. Would you rather have had ESPN on a nothing budget where you get half-assed fights or would you rather have PBC fights where there is a bigger budget and you put big names against each other. You don't complain about Thurman-Collazo or me against Garcia. Could ESPN have afforded those kinds of fights before? What are you complaining about?," Malignaggi said.

"Would you rather have Friday Night Fights with guys you never heard of? The stupidity of boxing fans really boggles my mind and throws me totally off. Would you rather have no boxing on TV and you watch something else? What are you complaining about? Boxing on Spike or boxing on CBS. It's either that or no boxing."

I agree 1000%

Give me any "showcase" fight over a random matchup of journeyman like 14-2 John Taylor vs 17-4-2 Mason Williams.

:blessed:
I liked the opportunity to see up and coming young guys as they developed.
And Paulie needs to pull Haymons nuts out of his mouth talking like Thurman/Collazo or any card with Paulie himself in the main event is some sort of treat that boxing fans should be on their knees giving thanks for.

Mayweather appeal process leaves Bradley waiting for 147lb WBO title

WBN have been informed by the World Boxing Organisation that Timothy Bradley must wait until Floyd Mayweather’s appeal window expires before officially being recognised as their welterweight champion.

Bradley claimed the interim version when defeating Jessie Vargas on June 27 in California and was promised the full version by the WBO if Floyd Mayweather fails to adhere to the terms set out by the WBO resolution - which expired on July 3.

As Mayweather refused to give up the WBC and WBA titles at 154lbs, and failed to pay the sanctioning fee for his clash with Manny Pacquiao on May 2, the WBO are set to crown Bradley as champion – but only once an objection fails to arrive from 'Money' for a period of two weeks.

“Monday’s Resolution is the final decision of the WBO World Championship Committee. However, Mr. Mayweather as the affected WBO Participant may appeal in writing within 14 days to the Complaint and Grievance Committee pursuant to WBO World Championship Rule 34 and per Rule 3(e) of the WBO Appeals Regulation,” General Secretary Jose Izquierdo exclusively told World Boxing News on Tuesday.

“What all of this means is that Bradley is not to be officially recognized as full WBO Welterweight Champion of the World until this term to appeal has expired.”

Mayweather has given no indication that he may fight the decision of the final resolution, whilst Bradley has since been linked to possible unification with IBF belt holder Kell Brook once his old belt is finally back in his trophy cabinet.

Mauricio Sulaiman admits catchweights getting out of hand

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has expressed some concern to WBN over the current state of catchweights in boxing but ultimately stated that it’s the fighters safety that is paramount to him.

As Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez near an agreement to fight for the WBC middleweight (160lbs) title in Las Vegas this coming November at a reported catchweight of 155lbs, Sulaiman opened up on his views towards the ever-increasing and controversial practise.

“For the WBC, there are two types of catchweights,” Suliaman exclusively explained to World Boxing News.
“One is when you have the title involved, and I will use the example of Cotto v Canelo. If they fought at 160, then that would be the division, but if they fought at 157, then that is an exclusive contract then that is between the fighters.

“The organisation have nothing to do. So had they weighed 158, 159 or 160, for the WBC that would have been okay and within the rules of the WBC commission.

Asked directly whether he personally would rather that they didn’t exist, Sulaiman was honest as always in his response.

“Catchweights have been used for many years, but it is just now we have taken notice because it seems to be getting out of hand. It is getting out of the original context.

“It’s a difficult situation to understand, but our main concern is safety. If you are the champion and you weighed 147, 149 or 150, its okay as you are within the weight division. There is no safety repercussion.

“On the other side when fighters are above their category, we do thirty-day and seven-day check weigh-ins to make sure that the fighter is not losing too much weight.

“The safety of the fighters is our main concern,” he reaffirmed.
Cotto v Canelo will follow a long list of catchweight contests, including Shawn Porter v Adrien Broner, Lucas Matthysse v Lamont Peterson and the two fighters themselves recently against Daniel Geale and Floyd Mayweather respectively.

Questions have been raised about holding a fight at five pounds under the limit when a world title is on the line, although both fighters have possibly seen the back of 154lbs anyway and may decide to compete at higher weight limits in the future.

this was part of the master plan Al Haymon had Floyd is a free agent after this fight and just imagine the bidding war for the 50th fight Floyd would be printing his own money with that one
