nikkas would rather go to Oakland to see a Gary Payton charity basketball game than go there and fight Ward. He has no draw, he needs to go abroad.

I don't think Ward needs to go abroad...kinda like RJJ in the 90's. He's the legit champ, even if fighting out of the US brings more revenue, we can't expect him to travel overseas. But he needs to expand and fight throughout the US. If he wants bigger viewership, more fans, and more money - he needs to start fighting in boxing mecca's like Vegas, NY, or NJ. If a top named foreign opponent won't fight him there it is on them IMO, but you can't expect everybody to come to your hometown - especially when it is Oakland.

Would it be harmful for Canelo to go to 147 should he fight Pacquiao? Or maybe just a catchweight of 150 or something.

Yeah, I don't get the excitement for a Canelo-PacMan fight. Canelo is way bigger than PacMan...yeah I get Mayweather did it...but I don't find the fight interesting.

Canelo has good opponents naturally at 154 he needs to beat. Lara is a good fight, so are the Charlo's.

After the Porter fight, I have been thinking about how good Porter-Kirkland would be. Too bad the network feud won't allow that to happen.

I wouldn't automatically give the "W" to Canelo if he fought Manny. Not sure who would win but I am not anywhere near ready to just say Manny get's blown away by Canelo. Hopefully this fight gets made if for no other reason just to spare the world from Arum's shytty matchmaking dream of having Manny fight Marquez and Bradley until he retires.

Yep porter has plenty of opponents at 147. he's fight kell brook next and he could end up fighting Thurman in the future.

Yeah, Manny has never been destroyed before in a loss. All his losses were close (except his losses at 17 and 20 years old) and even his KO loss to JMM was in a fight that Manny was winning. If he fights too long, then yeah, it could eventually happen.......but I doubt it

That's the fight GB should be building up towards. I'd put both of them on the same card next time so everyone can see them against different opponents. Later on have them fight each other and the winner gets Floyd. Yeah neither will prolly be ready for a fight of that magnitude, but it'll be nice to see two African American headline a ppv card for a change. Floyd keeps fattening these Mexicans and other spanish speaking countries pockets. It'd be nice to see him give a young black dude a chance to become a star.

I agree I dont think it is in Porter's best interest, the fight fan in me thinks that fight would be amazing.
Kirkland isnt a world beater or a huge name for your resume, but he can be in a lot of exciting matchups. The idea of two physical bullies fighting each other .

This dude Porter though, he looks like a JMW fighting at WW.
I will have to watch more of him...personally i am not a fan of bully fighters who rely on size and rough physical tactics...so i am interested to see what he looks like when he faces a fighter who pushes more of his boxing skills to be shown.

Thurman-Porter would be nice though.
