He can't handle canelo's power. And canleo's skill and speed will allow him to land that power. He got hurt by bradley,BRADLEY!. He's not the same puncher without ariza's shakes. He's not even a threat to canelo.

to say Pac is not a threat to Canelo is preposterous. this is a good fight. one with real intrigue. I dont think it will be a close fight....but that being said...I dont know who wins. if Canelo cant handle the speed....he will lose big. if Pac gets caught flush....he's getting stopped. I dont think its a clear favorite in this one. This is one we would have to wait and see. hopefully it comes off because this would be huge for boxing....and break some ice in the cold war. its a win-win for boxing and the fans. :salute:

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
i didnt just say that. Just said manny was slower and weaker
He may be a tad bit slower, but weaker?? :stopitslime: he just doesn't run in attacking as much as he used to.. That comes from experience (especially since he's paid enough for fighting that way) and trying to fight a smarter fight... I just wish he'd go to the body more.. Pac is getting old and has been through a lot, he's gonna inevitably slow down, has nothing to do with a damn milkshake

Schaefer Says Business as Usual, Denies GBP Extension
Posted by: Rick Reeno on 4/23/2014 .
By Rick Reeno

Speaking with BoxingScene.com, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer denied a recent story which claimed that he signed a contract extension with Golden Boy Promotions until 2018. In the article, Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya told the Los Angeles Times that Schaefer had extended his contract with Golden Boy until 2018. De La Hoya also discussed the possibility of doing business with Bob Arum of Top Rank.

While Schaefer would not reveal the length, or the terms, of his contract with Golden Boy, he had "no idea" what De La Hoya was talking about as it relates to signing a contract extension.
For several weeks, there have been rumors of a internal rift between De La Hoya and Schaefer. Both men claim the situation has been greatly exaggerated.

"I'm not going to discuss my current contractual relationship with Golden Boy, but I am not aware of signing a contract extension recently, so I have no idea what Oscar is talking about, you would have to ask him [regarding what he's talking about]. I'm the CEO of the company and I'm working very hard, I'm doing my job and I'm making fights. You saw me at Floyd's workout earlier today. It's almost 9pm and I'm still working. I know that Oscar, as part of his recovery, is making friends with Arum and I support him if that's what he wants to do. But I have no interest in working with Arum. I've been led down that road many times and I don't want to do it again," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

I wouldn't automatically give the "W" to Canelo if he fought Manny. Not sure who would win but I am not anywhere near ready to just say Manny get's blown away by Canelo. Hopefully this fight gets made if for no other reason just to spare the world from Arum's shytty matchmaking dream of having Manny fight Marquez and Bradley until he retires.

I dont think Manny gets blown out the water either, because he's still a great fighter. I see Canelo winning 116-112.

I just think if they try and put Manny against Canelo, the furthest Canelo would go down is the 152 catchweight he did against Mayweather, and Canelo would be much too big for Pacquiao coming in at 165 like against Floyd.

Margarito was big, yes, but he was slow. Canelo isnt slow like Margarito, is a much better boxer with much more defense than Margarito had and much faster hand speed. Plus he's a combination puncher and will rip shots to Manny's body with ease. I dont see Manny beating him.

If these Pacquiao/Canelo talks are true, then a part of me thinks this is a subtle "fukk you" to Floyd from both Arum & Oscar.

As for the fight, I can see Canelo hurting Pac with one good shot, yet I can also see Pac overwhelm Canelo with his hand speed, footwork and better experienced ring generalship. It would still be a fight I would love to see, though.

Would it be harmful for Canelo to go to 147 should he fight Pacquiao? Or maybe just a catchweight of 150 or something.
