This always puzzled me re Peterson's lack of pop. He trained like a man possessed, shyt even Spence himself said he learnt a lot of game about preparation from Peterson in his come up.

But for whatever reason Peterson couldn't even punch out your grandma, he looked like he could, his punch mechanics seemed decent, shyt he even popped dirty in order to be able to pop?

Peterson is more of an avalanche/downhill type of heavy puncher. He has to get into his pressure groove before he really starts digging them shots and his power is noticeable. Like once he gets 2 or 3 rds of pressuring you, his power shots increase. The thing is, this usually only manifests late in fights. Dude beat the shyt outta Kendal **** after looking ordinary early. Had Amir Khan running like a wounded gazelle by the end of the fight and was whupping Swift from pillar to post in them championship rds.

Problem with Peterson was when he'd try to do that backfoot boxing shyt. He has always looked his best when he came forward, especially his punching.

Oh I dont want to get it twisted, I was a fan, always had great uppercuts, he worked so damn hard in and out of the ring at getting it right, tbh I think he overtrained in this respect.

Move..... up... in.... weight lol

Tired of these fighters sinking down too much from their natural weight to get some perceived advantage. I get if you can go down in weight for maybe 2 weight classes, and do it comfortably and get a good nutritionist. But nah, this dude looks like he can campaign at 135, maybe even 140. And he's a growing young man on top of it

I will say vergil has also looked more vulnerable than boots too.. all the reason why it's a gotdamn shame they aren't fighting in Feb. This fight has been marinating for years

This, we've actually seen Virgil get fukked up, but on the same token we've seen Virgil make in game adjustments to counter/not look lost out there.

Wow.

Heard it all now. Spence got the same defence as Tsyzu. :gucci:.

Tsyzu had the same dogshyt defence his whole career. And I’ve been seeing his fights since before he was pro (at the fights too.)

This, Spence has been in with some dangerous cats and cats labeled as technicians/skilled boxers. If his defense was terrible he would've been picked apart/decimated a long time ago. Its clear as day dude has been compromised with the wreck, eye/sight issues and etc. He'll never be 100% again, lowkey Virgil wont be as well with that muscle issue he encountered some time ago, but he will/can get closer to it than Spence can.

That's the thing..me, @Knicksman20 are some of the ones that mentioned Spence got hit a little too much...his defense was a little lazy...that porter fight was alarming on how much Spence got lit up.

I'm still shocked at the result of this fight. Pacquiao at 40 made Thurman look ordinary. Thurman had no answer for Pacquiao's movement and fast hands

this fight did alot IMO to invalidate thurman's 147 generation. first half of the fight pac was beating the holy hell out of thurman..thurman came back but that disgusting body shot he took late kind of fizzled out his rally a little bit...its a shame

Yup. PBC welters... Pacquiao beat Thurman at 40 y/o, and Crawford delivered one of the most one sided beat downs on Spence.
