the benefits of getting rid of the promoter and taking your career in your own hands

During his GBP years, he was the typical 2 fights a year type of guy that seemed like a hermit

He drops GBP, and now he’s active , going on platforms doing interviews. Etc. seems like In a better space
Dude doing more media than ever, I don't know wtf GBP/Oscar was telling him all those years. They weren't doing enough to increase his profile.

i believe Monster got his eye smashed in too vs Donaire so they def wasn’t about to rush him back in with a killer lol.

Naoya Inoue reveals that he suffered eye socket fractures in war with Nonito Donaire - The Ring
Oh yeah, that shyt was brutal.

@patscorpio remembers that well i'm sure. Inoue eye was on some anime 'Ninja Scroll' type shyt.

Hand was up and on guard for the rest of the fight. To recompose, relax and get the win in solid fashion was a credit to Inoue and his camps professionalism.

That eye shyt is no joke, it changes your life forever.

I got no concerns with Saunders corner not sending him out again, this is Canelo we talking about.

:scust:This forum has a huge problem with inserting Floyd into every example to get their point across. It’s always a reach, and it shows these fans limitation.

in the main fight thread yesterday, you point out that Canelo was getting outboxed at times, you got a nygga talking about “well Floyd had trouble with Augustus.” Why is Floyd even being mentioned here?

You could have a discussion on anything boxing related and some bum will come in and say “well Floyd this, or Floyd that.”

Floyd is a horrible example to make points with because he’s anomaly. None of these nyggas are Floyd.
Smh. Tag me if you got an issue lame. Somebody said canelo still has major issues with slick boxers. And I mentioned Floyd to make the point that even the greatest boxer of all time has issues with slick fighters. I wasn't trying to compare canelo and Floyd. I was making the point that slick fighters will always be the toughest guys to deal with for ANY fighter. No matter great they are. I could give a fukk how annoyed your sensitive ass is about it:hhh:

Yes, all you upcoming fans mention Floyd in everything.

1. I did not recall your name
2. Your comparison was complete shyt. Zab in the early rounds would have been a better example.
3. You’re a Stan of another man, this conversation ends. I don’t engage in convos with stans. Can’t speak logic to them

You crying your heart out cause somebody mentioned Floyd's name and you calling somebody a Stan:russ:

Up and comer?.....I was on sohh talking boxing when floyd fight threads were getting 13 replies :pachaha:

The point was that even the greatest boxer that ever lived has issues with slickness. It don't matter how great you are, slick fighters will always be toughest guys to deal with. Just watch winky wright vs b hop to understand that. Both of em had no idea what to do with eachother. Nobody was downplaying Floyd. Nobody was comparing canelo to Floyd. It was strictly about how difficult slick fighters are to deal with even for the greatest that ever lived. And yes I think Floyd is the greatest pure boxer that ever lived. You happy?.....Now you can calm your ass down and stop being so sensitive. Got damn :mjlol:

Sergey Kovalev Could Potentially Fight at Cruiserweight in Next Bout

Published Sun May 09, 2021, 08:25 PM EDT

Former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev could potentially return to the ring in the cruiserweight division, according to a source in the boxer's team.

Kovalev (34-4-1, 29 KOs), 38-years-old, made his pro debut in 2009 and he's fought at the light heavyweight limit for the entire duration of career.

"The cruiserweight division is one of the options," the source said to Tass.

The Russian boxer has been out of the ring since November of 2009, when he suffered an eleventh round knockout loss at the hands of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Their fight was very close on the official cards at the time of the knockout, with tallies of 96-94 for Canelo, 96-94 for Canelo and 95-95. The Mexican star moved up by two weight divisions to take that fight.

Kovalev is now 2-2 in his last four fights.

He was scheduled to return in January against up-and-comer Bektemir “Bek Bully” Melikuziev.

The entire event was canceled after Kovalev tested positive for traces of synthetic testosterone. The test result was revealed by the Voluntary Doping Testing Association (VADA).

Kovalev was never actually suspended for the infraction, as there was talk that his test result may have been due to some form of contamination. The three-time light heavyweight champion has reportedly passed six VADA tests since.

As to where and when Kovalev will fight again, a source from his team indicates that having a fight in Russia is a possibility.

"A fight in Russia is possible. But there are other options," the source said.
