Fireworks baby! :blessed:

sorry, this fight has no more intrigue than FMJ-Guerrero. the only thing is people will see a one-sided beating thats worse than the Floyd fight. Rios fighting over 140 too? means he will be even slower. :deadmanny: wants a dumb fighter who will stand right in front of him. Not saying he would lose to Alvarado, but thats a lil more difficult fight than Rios. Rios already slurs his words...and that comes from him melting down to 135-140 and taking head shots (dehydration means less fluid around the brain). He already lost a title on scales. I fear for the guy...seriously, he needs to cash this check and be out.

ok, this morning I am stuck on this :duck: thang. people throw that around loosely. people run off a whole list of who Roy ducked, but truth is, he didnt. if you hear everyone's list of Roy's ducked opponents, damn near everyone of them were guys overseas who REFUSED to come to the U.S. how is that ducking? Roy was P4P king for years....if you want him, you will agree to his terms.

I wonder how you guys would feel to go to another man's country and get robbed like Andrade did against Bute? Or worse. Get rabbit punched repeatedly and end up like McClellan?

The only guy that I can think of that never ducked anyone...(that I know of or recall) is Toney. Toney would truly fight anyone, anytime, any place...and still will.

I am critical of Floyd...but be realistic. PW may have been the most dangerous ww at the time but he had little claim to being the best while Floyd was there....lol. As soon as he won his belt he lost to Quintana. He only fought two more times at WW against Quintana and Kolle. PW was only ranked in top 10 P4P one year as I recall...that was the year Floyd was retired...and Manny was #1 . If Floyd ducked him then Manny ducked him too.

Margarito...dont get me started on that cheat. He only fought PW because he was his mandatory. I remember countless interviews when he said PW was a nobody and didnt deserve a title shot, yet he lost to him.

Why didnt Pac exercise his rematch clause with Bradley? Surely one would think Bradley was an easier matchup than Marquez? If he felt he beat Bradley, why not fight him again...better yet...why have a rematch clause in the first place if you arent going to use it?

Bernard never ducks because he doesnt vacate titles unless he is moving to another division. Even still, he NEVER wanted to fight Dawson and only did so because he was his mandatory. He knew it was a fight he would have difficulty winning because of the style. B-Hop knows who he can beat and he shows that by immediately making the fight. He avoided a Dawson match for 2 years but as soon as Pavlik got the title, that fight was made in 2 months. As soon as Pascal got the belt, that fight was made in 2 months. Now I dont blame Bernard...there was much more to gain in those fights than a fight with Dawson. So was he ever legitimately ducking Dawson? No. Reluctant yes.

The only fighters that dont :duck: are the ones who never had the luxury to do so. Anyone else is fair game for discussion.

A healthly BHOP dominates Dawson though, just like he was on his way too before the power slam, a BHOP that was afraid to pull the trigger won 4-5 rounds vs Chad, lets not act like Dawson did anything special in the 2nd match

Both of them are damaged at this point. Sure, Rios slurs his words but it's not like Pac didn't get a beating throughout his dominant streak. He struggled against "not-so-fast" Cotto and got beat up. He got beat up against Clottey despite winning all the rounds in the fight. Even the :flabbynsick: Margarito have some success in hitting him. And of course, the one that put him :deadmanny:

sorry breh, just my opinion. Floyd is a beautiful boxer, I enjoy watching him because skills like that come around once or twice in a lifetime. I dont get hyped by watching one-side bludgeons like Rios is gonna get. This is what type of fights you get because of intra-promotional matchmaking. I am not sure on this but wouldnt an Abregu fight make more sense, particularly in forcing Floyd's hand? I mean why Rios...a guy just coming off of a loss?

true, Manny has taken some punishment. Rios not that old and hasnt been a pro that long and barely can be called a top fighter in his division. and he has taken far worse beating in less than a handful of fights. I guess we just give Pac a pass because we want to see blood and guts (likely Rios'). its a comeback fight...so I will give him some slack. actually, I am happy for Rios...just not excited about the possible outcome of this fight.

it's all about the eyeballs, man...you know this. people wouldn't get excited about an Abregu fight like that. he's hardly known in the US, and his only significant American fight was a loss to Bradley.

Rios vs. Pacquiao is gonna be a hard hitter that will get HBO the eyeballs & excitement they want. Plus, they're all about the Macau movement, and they want to arrive with a bang in their first marquee event out there. I'm sure Arum and crew are pissed that Rios lost that fight just like Golden Boy was probably pissed Cotto lost to Trout...but oh well.

Bernard not an easy guy to fight but that slam was another one of his con games on the public. same as he did with Robert Allen. actually, the first Dawson fight was one of the reasons I stopped watching boxing for the rest of the year. Bernard is a con man and he milked HBO and the public for two Dawson fights knowing he was gonna lose anyway. May as well double up on the money.

He is adept and using dirty tactics and getting his opponent to respond and thats when he goes into his act. Cant be riding dudes back like he did Echols and not expect them to throw you off.

Lets not act like Bernard is not a faker. He deserves Oscar nominations for Dawson, Allen, Echols, Calzaghe, etc... the way he tried to poke his shoulder in the air like it was dislocated....:pachaha:

Bernard took his hustle from the street and penitentiary to the boxing ring and now promotion. as a fighter, I love him. he is dirty as hell but you cant knock the hustle. but when it comes to his faking and loyalty to Bouie? :scusthov:

He a faker so, doesnt mean that Dawson is Superman, he couldnt land shyt on a old Bhop except for when Bhop was laying on the ropes and couldnt counter cause of no confidence in his shoulder, I guess 3-4 flurries and nothing else equal domination

I know. I am not hating on the fight. Its a good look. Cant say I am excited about it though. I like a good fight as much as the next man. I cringe at the thought of what Manny can do to Rios. This fight may definitively finish his career.

How about what Rios could do to Manny, he's the one who got drop twice by average power JMM the latter leaving him unconscious

the point is not to say Dawson is superman, just to say that Bernard picks and chooses sometimes too. A Dawson fight is much more difficult than Pavlik or Pascal. Bernard is a genius, inside and outside of the ring. I give him props for that...but usually I can smell what he has cooking from a mile away.

speaking of which....I havent heard much talk here about Bute-Pascal. Thats the biggest fight in Canadian history. Albeit with two overrated fighters.

How about a Pavlik or Pascal fight being worth big money, you think a near 50 year old fighter wants to fight for pennies against Chads boring ass, and lets not act like Dawson dominated his division he barely scraped by the Tarvers and Johnsons of the world, he didnt earn the right to say a fighter at the level of Bhop ever ducked him, the fight just made little business sense for BHOP until the fight was made
