Dirrell has had more than 1 title reign:heh:
Ohh I forgot about his back and forth with Sakio Bika :pachaha: won the belt but lost it to Jack right after that.
This is not a Dirrell hating thread though, he wasn’t a bad fighter either but he wasn’t that good and he was already past prime too when Benavidez got to him.

Canelo already gave us a fight against a good opponent on Saturday.

Canelo vs Charlo/Andrade/Plant/Benavidez/BJS will work for me. All these guys are undefeated and champions/former champions in Cokeheads case. They are all good fights to make. Canelo finally fought a young gun and beat his ass. That was my complaint with Canelo, I didn't feel like he was making the best possible fights. He just beat Smith, that was a good fight to make. Undefeated,#1 ranked 168lber and won the WBSS, Benavidez and Plant had no argument to be ranked above him, regardless what your eye test tells you because i believe Plant is the most skilled fighter at 168, but he is completely unproven. I have no problem with him fighting his mandatory next and then if he fights BJS after that I will have zero problems with that, because once again that is a good fight to make.

We wanted Canelo to fight people closer to his age and he is doing that, don't move the goalpost now by calling all these guys bums now that he beats them. That is a hige problem with boxing.

oh no he hasn't..the only thing plant has over benavidez is discipline...anthony dirrell is a better fighter than uzcategui ever was.and plant looked terrible beating that guy

plant and benavidez, million times said, have a common opponent in porky medina that you can do a comparison...one looked impressive, one did not..we all know who

and plant since surviving gassing out vs uzcategui

1. mike lee - who fought primarily at 175 and eats at subway
2. an ibf german mandatory who choc tried to hilariously big up like he was different from the other ibf mandatories as of late :heh: (pulev, szeremeta, khongsong, fanlong/deines etc etc)
3. caleb truax - dirrell stopped this guy in round 1 when truax was serviceable

any other fighter who has shyt like this in his title reign would be lambasted....there is a reason why boxers and fans have a majority opinion that he is the weakest 168 champion right now...i gotta make sure to continue to bring that heat to plant until he faces a live body

I'm starting to look at the punching power at 168 and 175 like :patrice:. Canelo really had zero respect for Smith or Kovalev power, but GGG had him boxing on the backfoot.

In retrsopect that was more of a tactical choice on the first fight than anything else cause on the second fight he was walking Golovkin down. It's just Canelo's defense combined with his great chin why he's able to walk down bigger men. Smith was befuddled and shat the bed, Kovalev took a safety first approach with only jabbingand moving, did better than Smith too btw until he got clipped.

Canelo's style changed after the first Golovkin fight, became much more aggressive. Since then his most defensive fight was Jacobs but even there I can't say he was just on the backfoot. He mixed it up there.
