Canelo already gave us a fight against a good opponent on Saturday.

Canelo vs Charlo/Andrade/Plant/Benavidez/BJS will work for me. All these guys are undefeated and champions/former champions in Cokeheads case. They are all good fights to make. Canelo finally fought a young gun and beat his ass. That was my complaint with Canelo, I didn't feel like he was making the best possible fights. He just beat Smith, that was a good fight to make. Undefeated,#1 ranked 168lber and won the WBSS, Benavidez and Plant had no argument to be ranked above him, regardless what your eye test tells you because i believe Plant is the most skilled fighter at 168, but he is completely unproven. I have no problem with him fighting his mandatory next and then if he fights BJS after that I will have zero problems with that, because once again that is a good fight to make.

We wanted Canelo to fight people closer to his age and he is doing that, don't move the goalpost now by calling all these guys bums now that he beats them. That is a hige problem with boxing.

I'm starting to look at the punching power at 168 and 175 like :patrice:. Canelo really had zero respect for Smith or Kovalev power, but GGG had him boxing on the backfoot.
GGG is a high level puncher regardless of narrative..smith never was although a good fighter..kovalev is one too but didnt fight to his strengths

regarding 175 power beterbiev is the one i dont believe canelo would handle like that

Saunders said he'd probably fight Andrade next passing on canelo cause he needs a full camp and not waiting around like an idiot
Would grow in my eyes, admittedly thought he was playing for waiting Canelo out. I'm happy to eat crow if he takes the fight.

He said he calculated the canelo fight and realized around September at best the fight would be in December on 5 week max camp and his body needs more than that. So he took himself out cause he didn't want to endanger everything he's built on a short turn around camp with fukked up rehydration :manny:. He did say he agreed with how Andrade didn't fight Williams and that it's not worth it for him financially and that they would be better off fighting eachother if not canelo. Called him versus Andrade a big fight thats easy to get signed in 2 weeks :yeshrug:

In retrsopect that was more of a tactical choice on the first fight than anything else cause on the second fight he was walking Golovkin down. It's just Canelo's defense combined with his great chin why he's able to walk down bigger men. Smith was befuddled and shat the bed, Kovalev took a safety first approach with only jabbingand moving, did better than Smith too btw until he got clipped.

Canelo's style changed after the first Golovkin fight, became much more aggressive. Since then his most defensive fight was Jacobs but even there I can't say he was just on the backfoot. He mixed it up there.
He just went back to his 154 self. He realized there's no reason to switch up now. These guys are bigger but they're also slower. His speed and counter punching has these bigger guys panicking in the ring. How do you deal with a little guy who keeps coming forward throwing bombs but can also dodge everything you throw?....At that point you pretty much just have to stand your ground and go to war. Or you better have very fast feet.

Canelo is taking a Manny Pacquiao approach right now. Just keep applying pressure and force these guys to rise to the occasion. A lot of em just can't think quickly enough or adjust on the fly.

I understand the strategy behind it, I'm talking about the body language. Canelo in both fights with Smith and Kovalev never looked visibly bothered by anything they threw at him. GGG legit stopped Canelo in his tracks a few times in their fights, with fukking jabs at that. It makes me look at Smith and Kovalev like :hhh:.

There are only two guys outside GGG between 160-175 who I think can make Canelo truly respect their punching power and that is Beterbiev and David Benavidez.

Me and my pops rewatched Beterbiev and Gvozdyk a few weeks ago and my pops kept saying 'That guys gonna need a new liver after this fight, I'm suprised he made it ten fukking rounds.' Them shots Beterbiev was hitting Gvozdyk with had me like :damn:.

Benavidez needs to admit that his big ass needs to be at Cruiserweight. I'm shocked he been able to boil down to 168, he is fukking huge. Low key David Benavidez vs Beterbiev would be :banderas:.

both beterbiev and gvozdyk were hitting each other with some shots...i was backstage after that beterbiev was marked up but dude was smiling...hes built different...gvozdyk had to take a ride to the hospital...when that ambulance came down the ramp of the liacouras center i already knew something was wrong..teddy atlas was walking around pissed...beterbiev has one real flaw..he's chinny..he's also the type of fighter that he gets hurt or dropped he comes back and fights harder..thats why when canelo beat kovalev i wanted to see a beterbiev fight since he's the man at 175..canelo could clip him but i dont think he would stay down or back off

Its also a bit of styles. Ggg is an aggressive counter puncher himself elite chin and his accuracy on point so he could catch and stun canelo even in the second when he got backed up. I feel you on kovalev though usually he stuns people with his power but he weren't doing well w that pressure.
Beterbiev a different strategy gonna be needed because I think he could fight at cruiser and he doesn't back off like others. Would be a tough fight
