Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista has apparently decided to retire. The only reason I am posting this is because he was one of those that HBO tried to put hype behind hoping he would be the successor to
He didnt even get off the ground good though. His first really big fight, Ponce De Leon blitzed his ass and that was that.
My point is not to say that these guys dont have talent, but if HBO and the promoters would actually let these guys fight and get some experience, they would be better. They just want to microwave manufacture these guys.
It was someone that used to say (cant remember who) that if you have fought 20 fights and havent lost then something is wrong. Fighters are manufactured now off of built up records fighting trash cans and cupcakes for the most part....then they are good for a major fight or two, the promoter and the network wipes their asses with them and flush em down the toilet.
this is the same fate I see coming with Canelo. some fighters can be lucky enough to keep winning, but most dont. the best way to build a fighter is with good stiff opposition.
Canelo is the talk right now. People say he has potential to be great and all that. They talk about how he is 42-0. Rigo on the other hand doesnt get a fraction of the love. Even though he is 12-0, there is no doubt to me who is the better fighter between him and Canelo at this point.
Marquez: Trout Win Does Not Make Canelo an Elite Boxer - Boxing News
I'm with Marquez, wins over Molina/Smith winner and Lara/Angulo winner and Cotto will force a Martinez/Mayweather's hand..........not just a close win over Trout, though he did prove he's a legit 154 fighter not just picking on 147lb boxers anymore
Bradley isn't overrated what are you talkin about?
add in the fact that if canelo does catch floyd he'd eat that shyt like nothing
He got 5 mill the last fight,
They way Bradley looked against Ruslan disgusted me, that is the definition of an overratted fighter.
Pacquiao needs to KO Bradley, or I'd never respect him again.
Ex-fukking -actly watching Bradley Prov all I could think of is my nikka Manny actually lost to this average ass fighter
Nah... I think folks are underrating Prov
Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya has big plans for WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs). After unifying the titles on Saturday night with a decision victory over Austin Trout, the Mexican star is looking for big things in the fall. Canelo wants to return on Mexican Independence Day Weekend, September 14th, in a major fight.
At the top of Canelo's list is Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26KOs), who defends his title on May 4th in Las Vegas against Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-1-1, 18KOs). If a deal with Mayweather cannot be reached, or Guerrero pulls of a major upset, then another good possibility for the fall is former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30KOs) of Puerto Rico.
De La Hoya: Miguel Cotto is also an Option For Canelo - Boxing News
Like I said they are using Mayweather to piggyback off of without fighting him for now they truly aren't even thinking about Mayweather, Oscar and anybody who knows this boxing shyt knows damn well Cotto comes before Mayweather, and that they wanted the Cotto match since last year.
Cotto will expose Canelo though, you need superb work rate to trouble a fighter like Cotto and keep him off of you, and contrary to popular belief Cotto has a granite chin. Asx long as Cotto throws that thudding jab and refuse to be sucked into a brawl like he did in his l's when at times in those fights he boxed quite effectively, he wins easily
