from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Not saying that you bytch ass Troll, I'm just not giving Trout props for his weight draining ass beating a shot blow up lww in Cotto by the skin of his teeth, and I damn sure aint giving Props to Canelo for beating that overhyped fighter in Trout, in a fight where he clearly got his head boxed off and won no more than 4 rounds, and the press sitting ringside vehemently felt he lost

:youngsabo:...but you gave Floydie props for fighting that blown up LWW at his, get this, "natural" weight of 154.... You even gave Floydie props for "getting hit on purpose" :skip:

You disgust me :pacspit:

Floyd needs Canelo for his legacy
A0l0Lee.png

So Canelo does more for Floyd's legacy than say Martinez...should he come down. Or Bradley at WW. Floyd is 36. Any legacy building is pretty much done...but for the sake of argument...why is Canelo most qualified?

There arent any great fighters out here honestly. I just dont see how Canelo is viewed as a legacy builder when he just got on the scene.
So you'd rather watch Floyd fight tomato cans on his way out? :wtf:

That's the difference between a "stan" and a "fan"...A fan wants to seen the best possible fights, a stan just wants to make sure his idol keeps winning...

And please don't tell me you Seriously don't believe featherfisted Timmy is more of a challenge than ginger...That fight will never happen because of Arum and even if it did that's easy work for Floyd and I'm one of Timmy's 5 fans...

What makes Canelo a legacy fight? He's a young raging bull WBA/WBC strap holder with all of Mexico on his shoulders...Most importantly he offers a legitimate challenge which is something none of the WW strap holders do...

The three best possible fights right now for Floyd are Sergio, Canelo and Pac...The easiest one to make is Canelo due to there being no network/promoter hurdles...Sergio is by far the most intriguing fight out of the three for me but he has a contract with HBO and it's unknown if he can actually still make 154...As for Pac I think by now we all know the deal with that...

Floyd can't avoid Canelo and yes he does need him, not for the money but for his legacy...The Pac fight never happening was a huge blackeye for both of their careers and the sport...After that debacle, failing to now secure the second biggest prize fight that can be made would all but solidify his legacy as a ducker and an opportunist in the court of public oppinion...

I am a big fan of dude but there is zero excuse for not fighting Canelo...Floyd's had multiple fights at 154 and even held a strap...If his age is a problem then he shouldn't have signed that showtime contract...Either take on a challenge or retire...
So fighting Canelo Replaces him fighting Pac? :heh: You saying Canelo in the same league. My nikka I'm appalled...

Question for the boxing heads here: From what I understand, Austin Trout did better against Miguel Cotto than Floyd Mayweather did, but how much would that matter in a match up against Canelo? How similar are Trout and Mayweather in their styles and athleticism, and how would that (in your opinion) pan out for a guy like Canelo?

Marquez: Trout Win Does Not Make Canelo an Elite Boxer - Boxing News
By Rene Umanzor

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has stated that Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) should not be regarded as one of the best in the world because of this past Saturday's unification win over Austin Trout. Canelo unified the WBA/WBC junior middleweight titles with a close twelve round unanimous decision at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

"A win over Trout [does] not confirm that [Canelo] is the best, because there are higher quality opponents out there. This [is] an important step for Canelo and [a win over Trout gives him] access to bigger fights. He has to face the right opponents and prove that he is a great fighter - opponents like Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez, Vanes Martirosyan, Erislandy Lara. He has to fight against those kind of opponents to prove that he's among the best in the world. That's where it should be confirmed [that he's great] and where [he will] gain greater credibility," said Marquez.

:ohhh: I'm with Marquez, wins over Molina/Smith winner and Lara/Angulo winner and Cotto will force a Martinez/Mayweather's hand..........not just a close win over Trout, though he did prove he's a legit 154 fighter not just picking on 147lb boxers anymore
