how one can dislike Porter tbh, gives everything when he fights and just generally seems to be a nice guy with everyone, the kind of guy people might take advantage on if he isn't careful.
How is it that simply saying he'd rather have Pacquiao's carrer directly leads to him getting called a c00n on internet forums and insulted about his personal life?
Personally I think Mayweather had the better career but that doesn't mean he said something fundamentally wrong, it's just his fukking opinion.

Starting out as a ligh flyweight later going up as far as 154 and knocking out top guys everywhere on the way up, being a beloved "people's champion" type, becoming a senator and basically having a whole country of fans behind you. And it's not like he hasn't made tons of money from boxing either. I don't even like Pac as a person but that's a good story with lots of success.

Porter is much closer to Pac in his approach to boxing too than to Mayweather so it also makes sense that he'd rather have Pac's wars and knockouts than late career Mayweather's superb defense and dominant performances that often didn't result in exciting fights.

porter would rather be 50-0 and be considered one of the greatest (if not the greatest) boxers of all time.

Mayweather is the better head to head fighter, more dominant wins, and made more money.

of course Porter is going to gravitate to Manny, because he somehow views Manny’s accomplishments as something attainable.

imagine if pacquaio took random blood and urine testing in 2010, and lost to floyd. i dont even think they were still talkin about him like that today. a huge part of his popularity was the belief ppl had in him beating floyd.

he rode the wave, rode floyds coatails for as long as he could and it helped his stayin power.

ive never heard anyone ask who win if pacquaio fought leonard, hearns, or sugar ray robinson. like the thought doesnt even enter ppls brains

floyd was gettin those comparisions and those who would win debates since like 2000.

floyds in that category, pacquaios a few tiers below. no one would whole heartly want pacquaios caree4 over floyds

Or you know maybe not everyone has the same set of values and goals in life as you?
Both Pac's and Mayweather's careers had aspects that the other didn't have.
Seems like Porter clamors more for memorable clashes and being a beloved guy than having a higher all time standing and even more money.
All I'm saying to the original comment I reacted to is just cause you wouldn't choose x over y don't make it out like the only way one would disagree with you is by the way of being a hater/c00n/whatever.
I never seen Porter hating on anyone, like you couldn't find a more positive guy in boxing if u would want to, it sounds reasonable that someone like Porter with his style would rather have Pac's career.
