The only thing that weakens the suspense a bit is the fact this is a prelude so we already know saul Mike and gus make it out alive. If that wasn't the case the anticipation for the inevitable war that is coming would be on a hundred trillion

I'm scared Kim is going to get killed.

I wonder if this murder on Howard is really what puts Jimmy on the run and not what took place with Walt and Jesse.

Jimmy got away with the Hamlin situation, this was probably 4 years before bb

That was not at all how I expected Howard to go. I thought he would end up killing himself or arrested but soon as I saw Lalo

man I don't why but I feel like Gus is gonna get the ok to take out Lalo for the same reason he just noted...Gus is an "earner"

But why wouldn’t Mike tell Saul Lalo is dead if Gus got the clearance for the hit?

Plus, while Gus is an earner, he’s still an outsider. I can’t see that hit being sanctioned. Lalo is the de facto head of the Salamanca family, not some low level capo

Howard was out there playing tic tac toe while Kim and Jimmy were solving the theory of relativity...until Lalo came in

Kinda ironic…Lalo did to their little professional game what Walt did to the cartel’s drug game: he was a wildcard that would’ve been nearly impossible to foresee completely uprooting their dealings with their perceived foes.

Apart of me felt Lalo was going to kill howard but I thought it would be due to him hiring the PI to follow Jimmy and Kim around and during that fake follow Lalo would get spotted and kill Howard when he approached him over Jimmy or over pictures taken or something. Sad Howard died not over lawyer stuff but due to cartel stuff Jimmy is wrapped in.

Lalo might be the scariest dude in recent TV memory. The thing is he's also charming/funny, he makes you want to root for him. Great finale. Can't wait.

Lalo might be the scariest dude in recent TV memory. The thing is he's also charming/funny, he makes you want to root for him. Great finale. Can't wait.

I loved his casual, friendly demeanor at the end.

That’s also why lalo paid Jim a visit, instead of Gus.

I haven’t read much speculation on exactly why Lalo went to Jimmy in here. Unless I missed/forgot something, Lalo doesn’t know Jimmy is connected to Gus/Mike (or at least they haven’t shown it).

What do we think Lalo’s play is here?

Nah, he wanted the guys to leave all their other posts (including Saul/Kim). Mike tells Gus that he pulled everyone to the house but did leave a crew at the laundry.

I guess I just answered my own question tho. Lalo could’ve went to see Jimmy and noticed he was being watched. If that’s how he found out Jimmy was connected to Mike/Gus, Jimmy’s def got some ‘splaining to do

How y'all forget Hank and Gomie though, they didn't deserve all that.

Lalo crawled through the sewer to get there. Mike didn’t have enough men to provide surveillance for a 3 block radius of the laundry. The few men he had there probably just covered the perimeter of the grounds.

That’s what makes Lalo the scariest villain in the BB/BCS universe. He’ll be calm and smiling right in your face meanwhile he’s plotting to kill you in his head.

Exactly…

The build up of the 3 episodes following Nacho's death and preceding Howard's death is a huge part of what made Howard's death so impactful. It would not have hit the same without the slow burn build up.
