Mike's really smart. Gus wouldn't have just brought him on the team if he was nothing but hustle. Gus admires Mike's principles first, but also his intelligence.

Mike is definitely a worker, but he's a really smart one, and he's not just muscle. Mike's intuition and ability to outsmart people is high up there
Mike is a Queen piece if you get the wire reference

first the bad...it's hard to suspend disbelief with how rapidly all the BB actors are aging. esp mike
and I'm not feeling how they got gus acting autistic or something, it's really weird

that said, good to see the fukkery start right away with kim in on it. looking forward to it all getting crazier
IMO Mike doesn't look significantly older now than when BCS started. He did look older on BCS than BrBa and it took me a little while to get used to that, but now that I've gotten used to it it doesn't bug me anymore.

All things considered I think they've done a good job of making a prequel for the better part of a decade using the same actors.

"the use of the song "the days of wine and roses" is actually pretty foreboding. the movie the song is based on is about a couple who go from happy days of drinking together to a downward spiral of alcoholism and its effects. if jimmy and kim's relationship follows the trajectory of what happens in that movie, it's gonna be a sad final season fellas :("

I hope the series ends dark as fukk honestly. :manny:

I love "BB" but Vince Giligan needs to stop letting people talk him out of going full dark, fukked up mode. The final season/end of "BB" was supposed to be way darker (Skyler commits suicide, etc.) but his writers told him :whoa:

Same with "El Camino". The ending he had in mind was Jesse in jail and his girl friend told him :whoa:

I'm not saying be dark and depressing for no reason but this universe justifies it, IMO.

Damn. I didn't know that about El Camino.

I do remember when we were posting leading up to the BrBa finale that we were expecting it to be darker. I loved the ending, but I thought Walt got off easier than I expected based on Vince's interviews throughout the final 2 seasons.

I'm kinda glad that El Camino didn't end with a downer, though. I like that Jesse got away.

As far as BCS...I think it's a testament to Rhea and Mando's acting that I want them to get away fairly unscathed. Especially Rhea. I know they won't. And I'd love to see her get a Grammy off this season.

Forgive the elementary question…Did Saul mention kim at all in BrBa?

what could her fate have been to NEVER mention her…?

no, he never mentioned her. sauls life was never shown beyond his fukery, the only glimpse of his private life we ever saw was when he went to the hospital after hank beat pinkmans azz and he was wearing a tracksuit, thats it

They in 2004. Jesse is an adult now. Why would Hamlin have someone follow Saul and Kim?? He doesn’t know what they are doing yet.
The kettlemen are alive in the present time. Also why would Lalo even go to them when he is Mexico looking for proof it’s Gus? Salo isn’t a dummy , he going to and fail to get proof Gus was behind the hit.

Hamlin isn’t dumb, he already knows about the set up with hookers, bowling ball, and probably knows Saul was there at the country club when he got caught with the fake coke. Remember he made a huge scene

Plus the Kettlebumpkins popped up out of nowhere calling him a cokehead to all the top lawyers in the state shortly after someone planted “coke” in his locker. We know Hamlin is plugged in the Southwest legal community. Surely word that his name was being sullied got back to him and he knew exactly who’d be behind it.

I def agree with all that this plan is going to blow up. And Kim’s the one that called the IRS…from the Kettlebumpkins office no less. I could see her falling on her sword when the walls start closing in. :francis:

I’m so confused what’s going on with Lalo…the Salamancas know he’s not really dead? I thought he was trying to make EVERYONE think he died. Hence him trying to cross the border solo like a commoner.
