DUUVALLLL
I have a hard time believing anyone would watch this battle ein 2019 and come to that conclusion.

If it's what you felt the very first time you watched the battle though, I could believe that.

It's definitely how I felt the first time I saw it, and that definitely was the consensus. I felt like Hollow displayed every element of battle rap in that battle. He was doing shyt that had never been done before. Lux was Lux, and Lux is great but Hollow just gave me more.

"When you watch it now" is the biggest hoax in battle rap btw. Moments and the adrenaline you get from an initial experience/bar cannot be replicated. Battles didn't even use to be on camera! So the guy who won based on everyone's instinct, is the guy who won. Being able to get a crowd to respond in the moment is a talent, and it matters, yet it's somehow frowned-upon lol. So of course if you replay it the guy with the more intricate bars is gonna win.

Yeah time changes a lot of shyt I still remember the day this battle went down

I was very excited and watched on PPV and then when the battle was over I felt hollow won and felt disappointed with Lux antics and performance

I remember reading the comments after the battle and nikkas was saying it was wack and disappointing

Now years later it's a big classic

Organik sounds really naive and kind of stupid in that post

Look at the cards he’s saying nearly sunk the company. They were boring as shyt. He put Nems as a headliner right? Real Deal? His product wasn’t innovating shyt and he had no new talent because those GZs are so poorly run, if you’re white and you battle, you get a shot

Look at countries with low birth rates, their economy is guaranteed to shrink because nobody replaces the aging workers. It’s the same with a business. No fresh talent that doesn’t drive innovation and aging roster that expects money due to experience. It’s capitalism 101 baby I’m sure they teach that in Canada

Glad he says he’s back on his feet tho, I never wished ill will on them, but I’m not gonna support a bland product just because it’s battle rap

I agree about the roster. What set them back for real was just not working with their older roster enough to make sure they could keep going. Loe Pesci was gone after Daylyt embarrassed him. Osa stopped. No one cares about Bartone (actually glad he's gone). Everyone dogged 100 Bulletz even though he has beat some of the toughest comp in battle (i.e., DNA, JC, Thesaurus). It took them forever to give Aftershock the credit he deserved once he go the GZ title (though it was on him that he would fukk up but still). Arcane was ruined post the Caustic incident. Rest in peace to Bender for real. Illmac comes and goes but he is good at doing music so we can let that be. I rock with Thesaurus but he ain't what he used to be. PoRich is back but thats only ok for what it is. The ones who have really been prevailing have been Charron and Pat Stay. If they could get Fresco back in the ring, that could help a little.

I don't want to say he was naive. I feel like he has done alot of good business with the battlers and others from what it seems repeatedly. And this past year or two was at its rockiest with some slip ups on their part. Losing staff and money pretty caused Organik to put the company on his back more and more. Makes more sense why they are helping RBE with their PPV which his smart. And it really sounds like past that Oxy vs. Diz battle, shyt wasn't what it used to be. Cool to see Nems back but it wasn't enough in the end.

And as far as Canada goes for the arts (the whole thing about the population and economy I am not too sure on; the further up north you go its less and less people of course), they have a ton of shyt they support in the instance he was speaking on in terms of getting grant funding. I don't know the ins and outs of it but its probably pretty damn competitive since there are lot of events and products sponsored by the Arts division of the Canadian government.

Every year organik does that cry me a river post about leagues.i don't see other leagues doing all that crying, he just mad his league isn't not even number 2 anymore

Honestly KOTD is trash to me not just because of the style or because they are mostly white, because I actually liked grind time, it's just boring with trash match ups

what you're highlighting to me is how KOTD's best days were either when the guys you listed were new, or they were getting Smack battlers on cards

picture them taking a chubby guy with a nose ring and extended punchlines named TWORK and making him a national star. they cant do it, so they suffer. RBE is smart for being a "showcase for battlers" and then throwing dudes like J Murda a plate mid-card because he was around when they were a "battle league". even they need to give up this 1SK thing, the last 1SK battles i watched had Spanish Harlem and Buttah FDB, and both of them are currently on the URL app
