that's short term shyt bro. he was already liable to get barked on by two legends and arguable GOATs (and dont get me wrong, chess was/is gonna talk to them hardbody, but the messenger matters too, especially to casual fans that only really watch hollow, lux, mook)

if he jumped up to battle these guys and then got told to sit back down, you dont think that's an angle on him? then they let him spit like 10-20 bars and then he goes back to watching? hollow was already keying in on roc being submissive to surf, now that angle doubles

As much I feel that about Chess getting a deposit for nothing or maybe something in the future, @dennis roadman is seeing what I am seeing in this battle. Loaded Hollows...them two are building up their content together and chillin'; quick on the draw with rebuttals if need be (that is more of Hollow's specialty but Lux is nice with it, too). They already understand each other's style and know how to angle Roc/Surf. And now, Chess gets thrown in the mix...let's not act like Lux and Hollow don't have unheard bars/dirty batch joints in the chamber for any moves from Gun Titles. Just sayin'.

A lot of times I've argued with brehs on here about battlers (specifically Mook & Lux) asking for big paydays and how its likely bankrupting leagues and stunting battle rap's growth. And the response is always sh1t like "If leagues couldn't afford it, they wouldn't do it", "leagues are still making $$", etc.

Anyway, Organik posted this on TalkBack today, very candid and very interesting



I figured leagues were losing money but never realized it was that much

I wonder how many times URL has lost on events and how much $$.

I guess Mook and Lux finally lowered their asking price as well as we've been seeing them on more cards in the last year or so.

Easy to forget about battle rap as a business sometimes. One that that I doubt is particularly profitable

Battle rap always have been a passionate driven genre by all parties (promoters, battlers, bloggers). This is not surprising.

I thought KOTD had more of a team over there, but based on this post, it appears Organik is truly doing this alone.

With URL, you got P/Blaqmarket running Banned Legacy, Norbes running Born Legacy, and Smack/Beasley/Chico running the big events.
