You get better content from battle rap as a whole.

I'll elaborate tonight when I am at a computer unless someone beats me to it.

Or maybe not. Shyt is starting to get repetitive.

Contracts are for the newer talent. Not sure why your comparing rookies and vets like they can make the same moves.

Thats the whole issue. If any one should sign a contract to not mess up their names its the vets and not the new talents. They aint got a name to mess up yet.

Shyt ain't adding up.

The majority of battle fans I talk too don't want to see B.Dot in PG.

I think they just trying to flex on BDot cause dude made a name for himself without going through them ( or any other big league)

And that pisses them off cause they are "Gatekeepers of the culture" .:rudy:
Problem is bdots names isnt as big as ANY of those names

Who's name is Bdot bigger than right now that gets battles on Smack without a contract?

This aint really related to the B Dot debate, but it got me thinking. I'm pretty sure guys do PG battles for free with the exchange of the promotion and the chance to get into the rotation with URL. But aren't they sitting on like half the battles from the last PG event? That's not even naming the ones that have been vaulted.

Now I've seen different reasons/theories as to why some of them are vaulted, from contracts not being signed, to a sub par performance from someone URL wanted to promote. My thing is, they aren't getting paid, and now its a chance they don't get their battle released after the fact. URL is still the top platform for battling obviously, but it does make you go :jbhmm: at least.

I think at this point, I'm sure URL makes it pretty clear that they are not obligated to drop your PG. You can't do a PG for free promotion (at least not anymore), you do it with the intent of making the URL roster. They aren't going to edit and promote your PG just cause you did one. Things were definitely fuzzier in the past though....

Ave is the hottest pg nikka right now and even he has a PG battle in the vault.. And he went off that battle too. There's no method to URL's madness man.

You got it backwards.

It's fair to say the majority of the pg's end up being midtier at best, agreed? I would say the pg's has produced maybe 2 or 3 top tier guys off the top of my head. Whether you like these guys or not, if these guys continue to stay committed to the URL, damn near every rookie from rookie vs vets might become top tier with the exception of Sno. That didnt happen in the past, despite there being more talented pg classes. Why? These guys would battle multiple places & it just ruined their stock.

As far as the vets, they got where they are today from battling on one league. They where exclusive to the url & where not battling 20 times a year. Guys like Clips/Verb got their name up to the point that people will pay to see them. That's why the URL books them. Clips could lose tomorrow in Nebraska against Jumper Cable and no one would care. You let Ave go in there right now & lose to Jumpercable & that shyt will just kill all his momentum.

I do believe if someone like Verb was on a contract, he could have been up there in status with Hollow. Instead, he's a nygga from STL that needs to get out the game with all those other STL nyggas.

That's talk about there real problem in battle. It isn't the contracts. It is St Louis, Missouri.

We got Aye Verb, Hitman Holla, Yung Ill, Bmagic, Remy D, Oops, & G Souldier.

G Souldier got destroyed by T-Rex. Rex ruined that nygga's career. He was never heard from again
Ooops just got 3-0'd by Mack Myron
Bmagic just got tbagged by T Money Bagz
Hitman Holla just got bodybagged by the URL
Aye Verb/Yung ill bout to get beat by Math & Cortez

STL stay taking losses

:stopitslime:You want to compare B Dot's resume to Reed, Charron, and Diz? They were top tiers in another league and Reed was a legend.

There's solid PG's like Mike P, Tink, and Ave he could face. Let's be real, the only reason he wants Saga is so he can break down Christianity. His angle is obvious and he probably has rounds prepared. Take away that lay up angle and the other PG's will expose him. He couldn't handle someone like Ave. URL sees that he's not trying to be a part of their brand long term. He just wants another viral third round.

no, you are comparing their resumes, I am simply pointing out the prerequisites to get special treatment from URL. The true answer is, their is no standard and url moves on a case by case standard. Your post itself says that unique circumstances have forced url to go against the standard routine and accommodate the artist based on their buzz, name, resume etc. You have failed to play devils advocate in all those situations as all 3 of those guys mentioned could have been disastrous hitting that main stage (pun intended) and hell it might have benefited all 3 to do a pg 1st. Dizaster had a terrible showing, reed had a terrible showing, and charron did okay but we can make a dozen reasons why that could have went bad. So the point is, the decisions are circumstantial, not set in stone.

So if you have a guy who had a verse go viral and get a million views on world star, has done media with boyce Watkins and others, and had a ppv battle that many consider a classic with a guy considered one of the best, how is taking tink da demon a good move? People are considering url side in business but not bdot side in it. Nobody said he should go right to a main stage. Just a better look than tink da demon on some random pg card and he has earned the right to not have to take any piece of battle hey want him to take. That is reserved for guys with absolutely no name. Not for guys who has created the buzz he has.

Lastly, shouldn't the goal be another round that goes viral :dahell: that works better for your branding than 2-3 pg battles that may or may not come out. He is also a certain kind of battle rapper. Criticizing him for going after saga is like criticizing t top for battling the street rappers, or criticizing tay rock for battling gun line battle rappers. Everyone has their lane. I don't see the disdain in that. In fact your last point makes little sense. Your supposed to gun for battle rappers more conducive to your lane and style. But I guess you all want him to pg step and gun bar it up with the other 30 pg dudes and in yall mind that is earning your stripes smh.
