It was him wanting to saveOne of my favorite moments of the movie.A small detail, that's how I saw it. I was like "Go get her Bruce!"The way Batman said "Martha won't die tonight" or "I won't let Martha die tonight" it was almost like, his mom died and he couldn't do much as a kid, but as a man, as Batman he could finally save Martha.

This is why @Still FloW @Arishok I don't get people complaining about Bruce Wayne's parents being in the credits.
It served its purpose for later in the movie.

When his dad was dying all he could think about was his wife. When Superman is near death all he is thinking about is his mother. Bruce didn't see an alien in front of him, in a way he saw his father.
