Just got back from seeing the movie. When I bought my tickets online it said most of the space was taken up...but there were still plenty of seats though
As a DC comics stan I was mentally picking apart everything in the movie.
For starters this iteration of Batman was my favorite movie portrayal ever. I initially doubted Ben when they casted him but he did an amazing job. I usually don't care much for Batman but this movie made me a fan
Batman was a straight savage putting work in on nikkas with no remorse. He was kinda Punisher light in this movie
The Batcave, his technology, and Alfred were all on point. This is easily the best Batcave ever.
This movies spin on Lex Luthor was quite interesting. It was a complete depart from the formal, regal Lex Luthor that I'm used to seeing. This Lex was quirky, eccentric, and never once made me take him seriously. I guess that's what made him so dangerous though.
They never explained how Lex discovered who Clark's mom was. That was a massive plothole. Superman's secret identity has been a high priority in the comics. But in these movies it's seems like damn near everyone can find out
Mercy Graves was Asian and skinny af
I have really mixed feelings on Wonder Woman in this movie. Wonder Woman is easily my favorite Superhero. They depicted her as strong on the battlefield. I didn't think the actress would do a good job in that department but she did.
WW had this weird ass accent though. I would understand if it were a Grecian one since she has ties to it...but this accent was random af. Every time she spoke i was like
The actress portraying WW doesn't have her physique at all. She's attractive...I will give her that. But she's skinny af and those tight dresses only further exposed that.
Outside of the fight (which i really enjoyed) WW didn't really do much though.
Lois Lane is annoying af. Goodness gracious. I really wish they would've just paired WW/Superman up like they are presently.
Lois Lane's dumbass needed saving throughout the whole movie. I was rooting for someone to finally clap her ass
The appearance of the JL made sense. I thought it was really forced when I heard all these characters would be appearing in it...but it made sense.
I felt like this movie tried to do too much though. The cramming of Batman vs Superman, WW's appearance, Doomsday....it was all too much for one movie.
Doomsday is a heavy hitter who at least deserves to be the sole villain for one film. It was way too early to introduce him especially in such a bullshyt way
IMO someone like Metallo should have been the villain in this. When they introduced that guy who lost his legs due to the Kryptonian invasion I thought it would be an excellent choice to use him as Metallo. He would've had a legitimate gripe with Superman and you could've tied the Kryptonite that Lex was trying to bring to the USA with him.
I enjoyed the philosophical undertones of this movie. They really dwelled on the realities of what a being like Superman would mean for the world. There were a lot of religious allegories too.
I enjoyed the Darkseid foreshadowing too. Those Parademons look wavey.
The "darker" tones of these DC movies has been great. While I enjoy Marvel's films nothing seems to be taken seriously in them. Everything is so happy go lucky and full of jokes. They never really explore the ramifications of their heroes actions.
I enjoyed this movie but the ending left a sour taste in my mouth. I'll probably go see this again though before I finally conclude on my opinion.
