The Official Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Movie Thread

figure i'll post my thoughts (spoiler free) and then catch up in the thread:

this movie was good, zak did a hell of a job with this and setting up jl/rest od the DCU....it really gets you excited about what's gonna happen next....i'd recommend this to people, in fact I did as soon as I left the theater....

as for the critics: i'm not into that agenda bullshyt, but something aint adding up....i say that cause a lot of their gripes don't make sense after you see the movie...first: the movie isn't 'dark' (I know that's a buzz word, but people misuse it)...just cause there aren't a lot of jokes (there are some, but they are sprinkled in here/there, there isn't a lot of wise cracks), doesn't make a movie 'dark'....secondly: the movie/story isn't hard to follow....you can tell the movie was supposed to be longer cause of some of the editing, but you still can follow the story easily.....third: everyone killed their roles...this was the closest to the comic batman we've had; chick playing ww did a nice job of pulling off that sex appeal Diana has and showing the warrior side; and yes, that includes the guy playing lex....I was more worried about him than anyone, my post in the thread when he was announced showed that...but he did a nice job...fourth: the movie was fun..it keeps you engaged the whole time, in a good way....

This is the WEIRDEST fukkING MOVIE ive ever seen.

The thing about editing is that you should NEVER notice editing, its literally the structure of your story apart from quality of your story. If you notice editing, then you failed unless its some weird indy arthouse bullshyt. I noticed it a lot.

That said, this universe Zack is creating is so interesting that I would recommend people who are fans of the material to see it. Its too long and too jam packed with shyt for general audiences to really enjoy.

The RT is deserved because by the nature of RT below a 6/10 is rotten. This movie is below a 6/10, like a 5/10. But I think its something you need to see at least once in any form - though I'd recommend real IMAX. Like any Snyder movie, its beautiful

Snyder brought Wonder Woman and Batman on screen wonderfullyand it makes me hype for her movie and him in Suicide Squad

I enjoyed it. Fell asleep for about 5 minutes, was tired. Otherwise, it was alright. Like has been said, it set up for additional storylines. Then I read an article saying Warner Brothers is trying to dish out 10 movies from this starting point of a movie. I can see it ..

What I find funny is the people in here praising this movie are ripping it at the same time

You highlight the pros while glossing over the cons like it dont matter. For what they were hyping this up to be anything less than a home run is a dissappointment. You've set the bar so low that just not sucking, just being able to get this flick to the big screen is good enough DC went all in on this and because your expectations are so low you're willing to give them a pass

I dropped a review but I forgot to give it a rating, I'd say 3.5/5. If the ultimate cut fleshes out some of the scenes that needed it and cleans up the editing maybe I'd go higher. Here's the thing though. The movie is beautiful and the acting is really good for the most part.. I think they might want to look for someone else to direct the next ones though. I'm torn because Snyder is a visual master but he has some real issues with pacing/editing. See... I'm never happy because Nolan SUCKED at shooting action. Whedon SUCKED at shooting action. You gotta find someone who can do dialogue/pacing/editing but ALSO shoot action.

i just got back. it's terrible, so... so terrible. no need to write a novel, if you've seen the movie you already know. it's worse than even the most negative reviews are even letting on.

imo it's as big as any blunder in history, sits comfortably alongside phantom menace and godzilla 98.

i don't even know what people are talking about when they talk about "standouts"... there were no standouts. everyone in this movie is jaw droppingly awful with maybe the exception of alfred whose role is so small it hardly matters. i don't even know why people are praising affleck, he was awful too.

the thought of them even moving forward with justice league seems ridiculous now, franchises (superhero franchises no less) have been rebooted over less.

i'm not kidding, it's one of the worst movies i've ever seen. to quote devin faraci, it was next level bad.

In the Knightmare scene, when Superman executed Batman's people with the heat vision

I love how many of the scenes we've seen in trailers/clips were abbreviated versions. The warehouse scene where Batman was handing out palsy to nikkas came off great

Sure he was brutal but he wasnt smart at all. Justice League batman has to be detective/ planner batman.
He was just a brute. I wish they switched some elements they gave to Lex to batman. Bruce has all the resources Lex has and is supposed to be the greatest detective in the dc universe (correct me if im wrong) yet Lex is the only one out here

Yeah Wonder Woman had a no b/s attitude which explains her dialogue.

I think them dudes at collider failed to realize that.

I kind of would like to see Diana and Bruce get together.

Like this movie is one of the weirdest movies i ever saw.

To a geek like me it had alot of stuff i liked.
To a general movie goer this is quite possibly one of the worst movies they will see.
