that version of luthor being his son is acceptable to me and i hope that plays out like that.

batman being 15-20 years older then luthor made 0 sense to me.

hopefully at the end of this movie we will see the real lex talking to darkseid who just boom tubed to metropolis and set their "plan" in motion
Umm.. Lex's dad is dead in this.

- Pa Kent telling Clark that maybe he should've let all his class mates die in that schoolbus accident because he didn't want to risk the chance of the world finding out about his powers.
- Pa Kent getting himself killed in that tornado because he didn't want Clark going in there, for the same reason as above.
- Clark destroying the technology behind the Codex entirely simply because Zod wants to misuse it, effectively destroying the last remains of Kryptonian culture and civilization for all time (or for now at least).
- Clark being forced into a corner to kill Zod because of Zod's vow to murder as many humans as possible in defeat.

There's no semblance of trust, no radiance of hope, no belief in a better tomorrow, hell, there's barely any sense of victory when Superman finally saves the world, outside of Jor-El's teachings the movie is all nasty pessimism from beginning to end.

i respectfully disagree, being that defeatist means someone who willingly and excessively accepts defeat, I think Clark becoming superman and fighting zod in itself don't lead to a defeatist mentality. Pa kent was inflicting the pessimism that many humans would have in a situation like that. The beauty of clark is that in spite of that he still chooses to fight for humanity rather than himself. Your points in the bolded show someone actively battling against evil and doom for the sake of himself and the people of earth. If he was a defeatist he would have said :yeshrug:when zod came and did nothing while earth was taken over.........

But brehs have ya'll seen this :lupe:

Did Watchmen or anything in the Nolan trilogy have a similarly obvious joke as "I thought she was with you." exchange? I don't recall it.

Umm.. Alfred saying that what's the point of all those push-ups if you can't move a burning log

Heaths Joker was fukking hilarious yet sadistic all in his own way

Dr. Manhattan fukking his chick while working at the same time

And I'm sure there was other funny shyt I can't remember...

Despite them being dark/serious movies there was humor sprinkled here and there. They were still classics.

Even MOS had funny moments like when Superman broke the handcuffs and walked up to the 2-way mirror,

Or in the end when he sent the satellite crashing down at the generals car and the Airforce captain said he was hot.

These could be most the jokes in the whole movie. It's still gonna be very serious.
Even Bruce's joke about clowns wasn't ha ha lol funny.
Hopefully Lex acting like this doesn't get much screen time.

I can deal with the banter (actually looking forward to it once GL and The Flash join the group) but Lex making Prince noises and acting like a white version of Rick James doesn't sit too well with me

Dr. Manhattan was joking when he fukked his chic w/multiple hims? Wow, that's a huge reach my G. It may have been a point of laughter for the audience but he was not joking in any way the joke I pointed out is purposeful joke telling in a moment of extreme crisis. Huge difference than most of these instances.
