He saved the world
He saved Lois
He killed zod

He didn't own the role because we barely saw him as Clark imo

no not from a story perspective, from a character perspective. what did henry cavill really do that couldn't be done by just about any other brawny dude. what did he really bring to the table other than just looking a hell of a lot like superman.

This movie is definitely certified to be successful especially financially but I just disagree on the point. There's a reason Chris O'Donnell and whoever was with Adam West are the only versions of him on film. Robin is a tough sell in general. If you want Batman to shine him being on a team makes him less than.
Every reason you named has a flip side, creepy old man with young teenage girl, why not dikk Grayson or whoever else, the movie could be seen as pandering to demographics too blatantly, getting the character wrong by say over sexualizing, or not sexualizing her enough, etc. It is a slippery slope nowhere near a given.

That's the job of a writer and a producer and a director to find the right balance. And I don't think putting him on a team makes him less than for real. I think it adds depth to him for real for real and adds another layer to him other than the one we've seen.

And it's not pandering if it happens organically and they're in a place where it can happen organically based on the story beats I know of the movie so far, based on what I read today. Bringing in Carrie would work creatively and it would just so happen to work for them in the court of public opinion; seems like a win-win to me on that front. You bring a different energy to the movie and to the landscape. And Carrie is a teenager, she doesn't need to be sexualized in my mind. She's a high school kid who just wants to do good in her city and in one way or another, gets in over her head but it ends up working out. She becomes a great partner and confidant for Bruce. I hear your argument, just don't see eye to eye with you on it.

Past evidence on film show film makers can't 'find the right balance' or straight up avoid the character all together. It sounds good but it has yet to be done.

Today has been a great day for DC news thanks to the lastest Empire magazine cover story showing off Batman v Superman. We not only learn about Batman and Superman, but we also learned some details about the upcoming Wonder Woman film which will be directed by Monsters's Patty Jenkins. It will star Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. The magazine claims that:

Logistically it is staggering. As Batman V Superman gains its coat of special effects, and the various stages of editing, scoring, grading and sound mixing are completed, Deborah Snyder, along with Roven is watching over a sandbox that stretches around the world. Jenkins is in London prepping Wonder Woman, which will shoot there this autumn.

What are your thoughts on this? Will you be staking out getting set photos or will you be living your life the same way as before? Comment below, let me know. Peace and remember...

Breh, why you bringing up these terrible examples where they got everything wrong.
:why:

Batman and Robin fail because it was a shyt movie.

Comic book movies in general were a tough sell back then when Adam west was batman.

People would love to see a batman and Robin on screen together done right.

Bailey Chase talks about Batman V Superman,

“I’m not a superhero but I’ve got a nice, cool role that opens the movie,” Chase said. “I get to do quite a bit with Amy Adams and I can’t wait to see it. It was just such a thrill to work with Zack Snyder and something on that scale, I’ve never done that before. It’s a completely different medium from doing cable TV so they have a lot of time and a lot of money.”

So he’s got a reason to talk to Lois Lane, and it’s in the beginning of the movie, maybe even before Batman comes to Metropolis.

“I had about three weeks of rehearsal,” Chase said. “I’m pretty good on a horse but I had more horseback training. I got some more gun training, got to work with a retired SEAL. It’s going to look awesome.

Uh I think they are the only examples. It's not like I'm cherry picking movies over here. The trick is to do it right, that hasn't happened yet, there's no reason to be optimistic when looking at past occurrences of Robin in movies.

Well, this time the person in charge is gonna be competent.

The first two times we had a Robin, one was some 60's shyt that was campy as hell on purpose the 2nd was directed by a guy that put nipples on the batsuit

Is Robin in this? I thought he dies off screen prior and that is part of Batman's story of why he quit?
