Well, I can only speak for myself, but without question I am more forgiving for Snyder because of the fact the cut that he wanted the studio wasn't going to allow because of the R-rating and the time length. Snyder himself said had he got more pull like a James Cameron then maybe but it was only logical for this to be edited down significantly. This was also the same issue with Age of Ultron, but the difference is that Disney wasn't going to allow Whedon to have a director's cut which probably would of make that film 10 times better.

Snyder did the best that he could with what he was forced to cut down, and to me it wasn't hard to follow and really anything that felt unnecessary. There's things that I PREFER, but I am not the storyteller. There's things in comic books that I PREFER as well as in any animated feature. But it is a filmmaker's choice and vision and you must respect that. With all of that said, it did exactly what was advertised.

This is like with Blade Runner.... Blade Runner was PUNISHED critically and was a financial flop. But because of the director's cut, it ended up being one of the greatest science fiction films ever made viewed by most people. And I am not saying the Ultimate Cut will be the greatest thing once released, but to me... the Ultimate Cut of Watchmen... the entire 3.5hrs of the movie is one of my all-time favorite comic book films ever.

Baring those things in mind, especially knowing going in, well before the 1st review, that this is NOT the definitive feature that Snyder wanted... I am less harsh on issues like editing and holes to a story. It was to be expected if you chop down 30 minutes of ANY film. It's why I hate those edited and shorten movies when they come on TV.
Nicely put.

odd movie. the lex casting and script was garbage.

the editing is all kinds of fukked up.

affleck is a good ass middle aged batman tho. like, his scenes were dope as fukk.

the lil batman dream, where shyt was loking like injustice was kinda cool

lol @ batman shooting people with a gun

why they aint cast a pretty white broad to be lois still annoys me.

movie was aite, but was all over the place.

shyt is sad man. As someone who grew up reading about these characters, watching the cartoons, collecting their action figures, etc for almost 30 years I'm happy to see these characters get movies that are treated in a serious manner. I'm not saying you have to like every movie that is released from Disney, WB, and Fox but the way fans beef is ridiculous. I'm going to see this flick a third time tomorrow and will be in the theater day one for Civil War, Apocalypse :mjpls:, and Suicide Squad.

Disney, WB, and Fox can keep taking my money:ohlawd:

people who hated Lex, do you feel like Jesse was the problem or the script? i feel like he did the best with what he was given.
I think it was the script. Eisenberg is a good actor and I actually thought making him a young, tech hipster was a nice refreshing change. The way his character was portrayed reminded me of how The Riddler would act or a more tame Joker. A lot of people wanted/expected this

What Stan war? I mostly see people who liked the movie and people who didn't. I wanted to eat but the food was overcooked and lacked seasoning:manny:

Definitely the script, this Luthor was never given much depth or backstory but Jesse did well with what he was given

Truth be told a more fleshed out "Anti-Lex" could be an intriguing fresh take for the digital age ... A bolt artistc move like when the cartoon made Lex black :mjpls:

Nah... This Lex was goofy and weird breh... Dudes mannerisms, ticks, poses, etc...
I think this is a development thing but I won't get behind him until maybe the next movie if he's become more menacing instead of the fukking riddler
