The Truth
people who hated Lex, do you feel like Jesse was the problem or the script? i feel like he did the best with what he was given.
If he added all that twitching, weird noises, and riddle bullshyt then yes.

After watching a few times, he had his dope moments. Just wasn't the Lex I was expecting. Dude was weird and goofy af

I feel it was mainly him. He added way to many gestures to his character and in between sentences he'd be saying things in a humourous quippy tone like "hmm" or "yes". That's how you'd expect Joker or Riddler to behave like, not Lex Luthor. The one thing that especially bothered me was when he was talking to some guy and he put the candy in his mouth then licked his fingers. I was like, bruh :dahell::scust:
They made Lex Luthor a fakkit. Unforgivable. And Jesse Eisenberg? Da ukk breh, of all the actors in the world.

It's like you said though. These characters aren't full formed or having to find themselves again.

Once Lex got his hair cut it seemed like the annoying shyt was gone :jbhmm:
Only problem is he seemed legit crazy. Seeing that deleted scene added some context.

Still think there is room for a possible Cranston Lex down the road though.

Both. When I saw him in the trailer my reaction was, "Who is he supposed to be playing?:dahell:" Horrible casting decision. The hair, the gestures, and everything about him was wrong. He felt out totally of place. That candy scene was some Joker shyt. Why make the movie dark but have this colorful clown in there?

Look at this:

That's some .com, gentrification hipster we all could slap the shyt out of. He has a basketball rack:camby:

Shave his head and he looks more like a social outcast who shot up a school:

I think Lex and I think:

They should have casted/played him closer to this version.

People seem to be very forgiving of the studio putting out an incomplete product then selling them the finished product later. If you enjoyed the theatrical release for what it was that's fine but don't try to sell me the idea that it's unfair to judge the film as released because they cut it in a way that would maximize profit but caused the finished product to suffer. I'm never buying the 3 hour cut and may never see it, the same is probably true of most of the audience so the film will be judged by the theatrical cut, which I and many others found disappointing.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but without question I am more forgiving for Snyder because of the fact the cut that he wanted the studio wasn't going to allow because of the R-rating and the time length. Snyder himself said had he got more pull like a James Cameron then maybe but it was only logical for this to be edited down significantly. This was also the same issue with Age of Ultron, but the difference is that Disney wasn't going to allow Whedon to have a director's cut which probably would of make that film 10 times better.

Snyder did the best that he could with what he was forced to cut down, and to me it wasn't hard to follow and really anything that felt unnecessary. There's things that I PREFER, but I am not the storyteller. There's things in comic books that I PREFER as well as in any animated feature. But it is a filmmaker's choice and vision and you must respect that. With all of that said, it did exactly what was advertised.

This is like with Blade Runner.... Blade Runner was PUNISHED critically and was a financial flop. But because of the director's cut, it ended up being one of the greatest science fiction films ever made viewed by most people. And I am not saying the Ultimate Cut will be the greatest thing once released, but to me... the Ultimate Cut of Watchmen... the entire 3.5hrs of the movie is one of my all-time favorite comic book films ever.

Baring those things in mind, especially knowing going in, well before the 1st review, that this is NOT the definitive feature that Snyder wanted... I am less harsh on issues like editing and holes to a story. It was to be expected if you chop down 30 minutes of ANY film. It's why I hate those edited and shorten movies when they come on TV.
