Just read it. There's a fine line between making connections between things in a film when the audience isn't spoon fed, and inferring, extrapolating and conflating things that aren't actually there. For me, I think the author does the latter.

"Superman stands in stark contrast to that cynical world. He wants to be a symbol of hope, he wants to use his powers for good, he wants to inspire us to overcome our skepticism and learn to have faith again, to believe there will be good ol’ days in our future after all."

Like, where and when does this happen at? It would be great if it did, but it doesn't actually occur in either film. Snyder's Superman is a hero by default.

"I got these powers, I may as well use them. :yeshrug:"
Just my read of it..

I think the conversation between him and Bruce Wayne is what that's about as well. Also, the author seems to be including Crowe El's take from Man of Steel. It's interesting because both Man of Steel/BvS shows just how conflicted he is (or at least how Snyder made him). That stems from his fathers preaching different shyt.

Crowe El sees his son giving this planet a reason to hope. "You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders"
The reason I say he's so conflicted is that his real father was selling him on becoming something greater, but his Earth father always had that :francis: about when the world really finds out about him.
So in that scene with Bruce he's believing that he is that dude Crowe El was talking about. However, Bruce...like nah breh :dahell:.

Immediately following that scene we see him saving the girl at the Day of the Dead. The people reach out and touch him and are inspired. However, its voiced over by the doubt from the media.

My hope is that the future's films he finally becomes prime Superman. The all inspiring Superman that most of the world sees as a symbol of hope.

Breh just had to
die
to get there
full

I'm holding out hope that he gets there in Justice League. Because if he doesn't its a massive failure. If he does, then he just took an interesting journey to finally get there.

What people don't understand or didn't like is that the first half of this movie was a Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent movie. They needed to do this because everything from here on out will be them completely as Batman and Superman
As much as I enjoy the movie I still feel that a Man of Steel 2 and solo Batman movie should have dropped this year. It could have solved some of the issues because when BvS happened people would have more of an emotional connection.

Then again in time maybe we'll look back and say they didn't need too. Time will tell :manny:

Age of Ultron definitely gets better for me everytime.....there's really alot there visually that's hard to soak in and enjoy just in a couple viewings. That's the same reason why MOS got better for me. It really is a great movie. Its just that most people never gave it a 2nd chance.
Brehs think I love everything DC.

I HATED Man of Steel. Fell asleep watching that movie. It took me about the 3rd time to watch it and then I really started to appreciate it.

I've only seen AOU twice so I may need to check it out again.

I could be wrong, but this Superman doesn't have "Cold breath" :patrice:

I thought it was a good scene. It was very human moment for him :yeshrug: When a tragic "aww fukk moment" happens people don't respond right off the bat and he knew he was catching the blame no matter what. Thats what Superman looking stunned/shocked looked like. I think as he left he knew no one was alive.

It wasn't a good "Superman moment"

But I enjoyed it as a good Clark moment when he felt that weight. shyt hit the fan and he felt it.

I may catch heat for this, but I liked Superman leaving because the world doesn't accept him/collecting his thoughts. Instead of losing his powers so he can be with Lois (like in Superman 2) :manny:
That might be the worst scene in the movie. No way to defend that one. :mjlol:

The only reason we even got a BvS movie is cause MOS underperformed at the box office. If MOS would have made money comparable to any of the Dark Knight movies or any marvel movie then we would have gotten MOS 2 instead. DC literally put all their chips in and said fukk it! They had to come out with BvS just to even keep up with Marvel

Just got back from seeing it. Took my daughter(10) with me.

First off, she straight went in on Batman during the Doomsday fight.

:beli:Where your favorite superhero?

:martin:No help, just no help.

:stopitslime:Look at him just running.

:patrice:So he was going to beat Superman, yet can't even help them in this fight.

:upsetfavre: WW had to get off her plane to come help him.

Me:russ:But on the inside:sadcam:

Outside of that Zuckerberg was awful, and I really hope they change his entire demeanor going forward.

:yeshrug:WW was the best part of the movie IMO, and she had limited screentime.

Affleck was a pretty good Batman.

:francis:Superman

Movie was just over average. I'll give it a 6/10
Batman was leading Doomsday away from the city

i legit took off a full point from the movie because of this scene.....if you're gonna kill pa kent (which u dont have to cuz he's not dead in the comics) make it more plausible than being killed by a tornado because he wants to save his dog :childplease:

If you had to watch it three times for the movie to become easier to understand, doesn't that make it the fukking opposite of easy to understand? :russ:
I don't mean to interrupt your 30th viewing of Mad Max: Fury Road, which I'm sure is making the complex story that much clearer for you, but you seem furious that people like this movie:jbhmm:
