But from the video I posted his back story seems cool. Even if they just take pieces of it.

Fury, Coulson and shield will be featured heavily in Captain Marvel's Movie. This movie might tease that though.

Any new heroes being introduced?

One or more new characters are being introduced....as far as who, no idea. Stan Lee said this a few months ago:

Stan Lee wants the Fantastic Four and X-Men film rights to be back at Marvel - GameZone

It was also hinted at that a major new character will appear in Avengers: Infinity War. When asked if he could give us any details, his assistant whispered in his ear and told him he can't discuss it in-depth. He said that a new character (maybe even multiple) would appear and it would please the fans.
