I don't mind if Thanos catches bodies and some are brought back. That's literally what comic books are all about. Nobody is saying these characters should stay dead forever. But Thanos with the IG will definitely have to be shown as having limitless power

I think its to get at Vision a second time. The first time they didn't get it from him but they was able to hurt him. I think Cap took Vision to Wakanda so Shuri could try to fix him.

Loki, Vision and Gamora are done. Loki sacrafices himself to save the Asgardian people. Vision is killed in a battle for the Mind Stone by one of TBO members. Thanos kills sacrifices Gamora.
Also the only way to get the soul stone is to obtain the other Infinity stones, so it ain't in Wakanda, its guarded by some aliens or something.

I've been advocating for that Gamora death. it's perfect naritively and she's one of the least impressive/memorable characters in the entire MCU yet would still have a massive impact.
