I think people are forgetting that Thanos by himself with no infinity stones is still a cosmic level threat that would beat most Avenger teams by himself. He punked Hulk with minimal effort early in the Infinity War movie and that was done to show that he's a monster even without infinite abilities. 
That also shows how dope Doctor Strange is to be able to hold his own for a time with his sorcery and give Thanos headaches

He did have some help with the Power Stone though. Don't know if he actually used it, but he did have it on him at the time.
It didn't light up, he did that for the sport of it.
Had Hulk kept getting the best of him he probably would have, but he wanted to flex and did just that. You can see initially that the Hulk is stronger than him but once he took those first couple blows he broke him down surgically. Imagine if Bruce was able to learn how to fight from Steve or something and THEN hulk out while retaining what he learned.
