Fun theory off the last chapter I saw suggested:

Someone suggested, what if Lili = Toki. That would explain the random disappearance but with enough wherewithal to leave a letter behind.
Then to expand on that, they suggested what if Lili/Toki used her power to send the poneglyphs forward in time. The One Piece is the final poneglyph, which got sent 800 years into the future. That would mean the reason Roger was too early to arrive to Laftel is because the One Piece wouldn't arrive for another 30 years.
That'd explain Imu's speech about Lili's Grave Blunder in the latest chapter. "Without that blunder there would be no pirates chasing the poneglyphs in pursuit of treasure either. If it were not for Lili's incompetence those vexing relics would never have been scattered all over the world...One must wonder whether it was truly a mistake or if it was actually part of some larger plan."
I've gotta go back to the Oden flashback to revisit Toki and get a feel for how this actually fits, but I like the idea at first glance.

That's the only thing disappointing about them. They were hyped up for so long and besides Lucci everyone else is subpar. I mean the two in the mask were giving X drake and Apoo problems but I wanted at least one to be on the level of like a Marco or King/Queen.
