Wow, who knew that the panel that would cause the most discussion this chapter was the color spread showing Yamato with the women. They going crazy over that shyt all over. :snoop:
Almost nobody is talking about the actual chapter on twitter, it's crazy.

The chapter was pretty uneventful compared to recent events, clearly a building block being moved into place and that doesn't usually register. Quite frankly 90% of it is just coloring in some blanks on past events that were off panel, nothing impactful occured until the last page.

This manufactured controversy over the Yamato spread is ridiculous if we're being honest but that's the era we're in. I try to ignore it and everything related to it because the shyt will give you a headache trying to go through it logically and none of these people that are raging are interested in logic in the first place. :francis:

I agree that like the previous chapter this one didn't move the plot forward much, I wasn't expecting so much discourse on Yamato's gender though, All that just because Oda wanted to insert an "I am Oden" gag with the character :skip:.

:wtf: Yamato is a woman though. Oda showed us how he would draw Transgenders with the new kama people and honestly it's almost like he's mocking them. Not sure what the beef is about. Incel's gonna incel. :manny:

That shyt was terrible. It doesn't even look like One Piece anymore. Toei stays ruining things.

What? All that beam-spam looking shyt made it look more like something out of DBZ than One Piece. It took away the impact of Zoro finishing off King. Toei does too much in trying to make this shyt look [dumb] cool and end up ruing critical moments.

^^^Thst is literally all we got in the manga, there's no way you put this bare bones into an episode and expect it to have the same amount of impact. That's literally what makes a good adaptation, you take the source material and you breathe life into it while maintaining the soul and tone. I think that's what they did with this last episode and quite frankly, what they've been doing since Wano started.

These abilities have risen along with the stakes against more and more larger than life enemies and the animation has to reflect that. Oda created a world full of ridiculously scaled things so it's not going to change anytime soon. At the end of the day it's still going to be Luffy punching someone or Zoro slicing through something but it's going to evolve as the characters have evolved.
