look how many chapters it took them to get strong and the world building in one piece
LOL what's? SHs were strong beforehand you act like they were weak. And they had rapid growth.
They are now entering a stage where they r a top 4 crew. But they were always strong
Plus Chapters don't mean anything as the quantity is only cause Oda has had alot of story to tell and still does
Otherwise this story would have wrapped up 700+ chaps ago and the SHs become strongest at record pace around chapter 340 somethin somethin

I have a good time when I go out of my mind..
Feels like it's been months since the last One Piece chapter.
- Chapter 1,037: "Shuron Hakke".
- The end of the festival is approaching in the "Flower Capital".
- Luffy Vs. Kaidou.
- Kaidou drinks sake during the battle.
- "Shuron Hakke" seems to be a drunken Kaidou technique.
- Alcohol makes Kaidou go through several phases in his fight against Luffy: sad, crying and angry.
- Kaidou: “Gundari: Ryuseigun”!!!
- Luffy: “Gomu Gomu no Roc Gatling”!!!
- Cut to the “Pangaea Castle” in "Mary Geoise".
- "Gorousei" talks about catching Nico Robin.
- We see Government warships are near Wanokuni.
- Someone from the fleet informs to "Gorousei" that they see a shadow.
- "Gorousei" says that it is not possible, that even for them it is a legend, and it had not awakened in the last centuries.
- "Gorousei" ends up talking about an Akuma no Mi and how they have given that fruit another name to hide his true name.
- Chapter ends by revealing the identity of that shadow seen by the ships in the Wanokuni Sea.

And it's just behind World Government fleet we saw near Wanokuni a few chapters ago.
No Marine appears in the chapter. What we see are warships with World Government flags, not the Navy.

Hate to be that nikka but this might be Oda going through some 'bleach' like writing phases. How is Luffy already emperor level.
im a luffy stan and all but his powering up as of lately has been a reach

He at least trained after the initial Kaido fight, remember what Rayleigh said haki only blooms in the heat of battle so it makes sense his biggest power boosts are in the middle of these major fights.

One Piece has beeen running for well over 20 years already
how long does the series have to go for Luffy to be strong?There is a difference between being strong and knocking off the boogeyman, prodigal child, and strongest creature in the world in back to back fights. It does seem absurd when you look at it from. A different angle
Yeah luffy's growth is pretty fast when you think about it. Like one month ago he was struggling against Katakuri, pretty much getting beat most of the fight, now he's fighting on even ground with Kaido without G4. That and all the haki power-ups he went through at only 19 years-old 
I can see why some people think it's going too fast although he does have to be strong at some point.

i don’t see it like that Kaiduo is clearly drunk and all of Luffy’s punches are haiki infused and a clear combo of gears 2 and 3. Gear 4 destroyed domflango and he couldn’t even put up a fight against it and kataroui he barely managed to beat with it even showing a variant of Gear 4 so I don’t think the power scaling is that bad considered he had trained. I still think that luffy is going to win through the help of the zoro and sanji anyway.
