Again, my original point is about the legislative processed. The bill must be passed out of the house first, then the senate, then the president. The democratic house already announce their intentions with supporting HR 40 as soon as they took over power in 2018. They were already on board. Next step is the senate and president. Just like you are doing, ADOS leaders spent most of their time complaining about Obama and Clinton while ignoring the current roadblock at hand, which is a republican senate and president that are steadfastly against this proposal which makes it dead on arrival.

If anyone watches the video above, I hope we learned our lesson from Kennedy/LBJ, Clinton, and Obama.

Ok so what’s the solution? Continue to belittle the one party composed of members that support of any form a reparations while giving the other party — that is completely against reparations and has the power to stifle any legislative movement of the bill — a pass? We shouldn’t dedicate ANY energy to ousting the party completely against reparations and controls 2 branches of government needed for a reparations bill to pass? How does this make sense as a political strategy?

All 3 of those Presidents have something in common. I timestamped a video which illustrates the problem. If you still want to argue something that I'm not, then so be it.

Again, I’m not sure what those 3 presidents have to do with the legislative progress of reparations TODAY in this climate. You’re proving my entire point of that some of y’all exemplify a complete lack of focus. I’m talking about how we can realistically get a reparations bill from the house -> senate -> president legislatively, after already solidifying support in the house, and you want to waste my time deflecting and arguing about a couple of dead and retired presidents.

These fukking dumbass retarded posters keep asking about the money and how will spend it... :stopitslime: Downplaying this shyt, go and ask the jews what they do with their fukking reparations check fukking idiots!!!

I don't recall who said it first but if you owe somebody some money you don't get to ask them how to spend it, just pay the money.

Hitchens making the argument for reparations.

Always "liked" Hitchens, even when disagreeing with his views (especially on foreign policy). I don't support ADOS or the reparations movement but even I can certainly admit something is owed to the descendants of slaves. But as I've said many times, the political realities make it impossible and I find the movement for reparations to be anti-intellectual, and out of the bounds of reality. Coates made an academic, intellectual case for reparations years ago...but it seems like the movement now boils down to a comical, dependent cry of "give me my money." That's not how this works and personally I'd be ashamed to sit around with my hand out begging the United States government for money in 2019.

Does anybody know of any ADOS org's in NYC/ Harlem? Me and the fam are steady recruiting but we don't have any connection to the wider org. All I can do is refer ppl to the website.

Look up “ADOS NYC” on Facebook, also I can pm you the Telegram(telegram is like Discord) room we in.

In another thread, these were posted.

The 1st and 2nd tweets I get and understand. But the 3rd I'm having a bit of mixed feelings about. One because not a lot of ADOS know their own history or are taught (proper or improper) by their parents. Also, the fact that our (any DOS) African roots were stripped from us caused all manner of confusion and subjugation and allowed the lies of inferiority to take hold in many of our communities. Doesn't the phrase, "we have to know where we come from to know where we're we going" still apply?

LL Cool J's great great great uncle (Tom Malono) was a slave won his freedom through bare knuckle in 1790. He was as the story is told: a slave bare knuckle boxing champion. Then a freedman bare knuckle champion, then fought overseas and won there as well. He then fought the best English bareknuckler (Tom Crib) back in the day. The crowd saw that Manolo was going to win. So they sabotage the fight by hitting Manolo over the head with a steel pipe just so Crib could win.

:ohhh: rep. I remember learning about Manolo in college. Never knew LL was a relative or that his lineage consists of boxing.

Mike Tyson's enthusiasm over him was great to see too

People warned both YC and Darity about that lady. She’s said some questionable things about Black Americans in general before that people seem to forget. Seems like they’ve learned and kept it moving from her. Good for them.

Yeah LL also tracked his family down through Dr. Henry Louis Gates and the family showed LL rare videos of his fights and photos. They explained how someone in his line may have ended up in adoption. It was good to see.

You see how she had her little white lap dogs join in her attack? I hate how she brought up Mr Darity’s place of work. Both her and that white rapper woman have resorted to that attack.

I do wonder what it is she said about us black Americans, though.
