Again, I'm not critical of the movie. If your so inclined to join the conversation then keep up with it. The movie itself and essence isn't active in the agenda push. It's merely artwork telling a specific story. But just like propaganda and agendas go, they often USE something void of their intent and herald it as something it wasn't because it furthers their own goal. Separate from the goal of the creators.
The agenda championed this movie in an effort to further itself. Through no fault of Moonlights creative team.
But we're supposed to be excited over the black version of Broke Back Mountain

This is what I'm specifically responding to since it's the only thing relevant to my original post that you quoted.
There were no flamboyant gay men in this film, yet the visceral rejection of the film is still present in this very thread. Not because it's flamboyant, but because it exists at all. And that same sentiment persists beyond film and onto actual people. The "homosexuality is a white thing meant to emasculate the black man and destroy the family" is baked into the cultural climate. It's not to the same degree as it was perhaps 30 years ago but it's still very much an issue today, as reflected in how discussions of black and gay always go on this site.
