GREAT read. Thanks. Ava sounds like she's really got a solid grasp on this industry, and a level head. I think she's gonna be around for awhile.

It will!

the part that bugged me out though is when the two academy members spoke about different issues, one saying that they felt like the campaign and the director and the movie was saying that if they didn't vote for them, they'd be racists and the other who said the movie had an obligation to be historically accurate in a year where you nominate movies that aren't historically accurate and you've always nominated movies that aren't historically accurate.

It's really crazy how much bullshyt people will hide behind to cover their asses. It also exposes the persistent trepidation Hollywood has towards films that address race.

Which is why another voter said the academy loves to be liberal but comfortably liberal

Unsticked smh

The Imitation Game was good. BC was good and Keira Knightley was shockingly good. The cinematography was meh at best, the fim is driven by the acting.

I know the Selma thing's kinda overshadowing everything but I watched Nightcrawler last night and its :mindblown: that Gyllenhall didn't even get a nomination. He killed that shyt. I know the movie was dark as hell and Keaton's basically a lock but damn :damn:

'Birdman' Wins PGA Award In Upset Over 'Boyhood'
Christopher Rosen

Maybe this is an Oscar race after all: At Saturday night's Producers Guild of America Awards, "Birdman" producers Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu, John Lesher and James W. Skotchdopole won the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for best movie, topping Best Picture favorite "Boyhood," among other Oscar nominees, for the honor.

Why is this significant? Recent history, for one: Since 2007, when "No Country for Old Men" won at the Producers Guild Awards, the guild's top award winner has matched the Oscars' Best Picture choice every time. (Last year, "12 Years a Slave" and "Gravity" tied at the PGA Awards, giving the group a somewhat unfair statistical advantage.) In its history, the PGA Awards has successfully predicted the eventual Best Picture winner 18 of 25 times.

Sags gonna be HUGE tonight
