Nope she meant what she said exactly how she said it, she hasn't done a damn thing for black folks but she wants us to fight so mediocre actresses get paid the same amount as Denzel or Hanks. This is a classic example of them ignoring us until they need us, sadly women like Kerry Washington fell for it hook line & sinker.

Boyhood was average at best.

Its a gimmick, a cool gimmick no doubt but once you take away the whole filmed over 12 years element youre left with a boring film that doesnt need to be seen again.

that kind of commitment and patience deserves an award, it worked and made a valid point. It dersves something.

The movie was the epitome of an achievement in film making even if it was only shot for only 12 weeks. As far as I know there's not another film like it.

Any other year I'd have given it to Selma or Birdman., but Boyhood should have won based on the academy's own definition of what the award shows are supposed to be about... it just goes to show.

It definitely will. As someone else said the more screens you have opening weekend, the bigger opportunity your film will be to get out there. But we live in a world where a film like Top Five will do very well on Blu-Ray / DVD.
