What did he ever do there?Mullen was a dawg at Mississippi st, Florida just a mid school that got lucky with 2 generational coaches

OK State and Miss St are not comparable. The only person you can compare Mullen at Miss St too was James Franklin at Vandy. Not a fair comparison.
Compare OK State Les to MS State Mullen.
They were both on the come up then.
If Dan takes, say some ACC/lower tier B1G job then the comparison can start.
They fukked up hiring Napier to replace him.Florida fuccked up firing him. End of story.
Ok, but then you can't really compare Les and Mullen whole careers from that standpoint.OK State and Miss St are not comparable. The only person you can compare Mullen at Miss St too was James Franklin at Vandy.
Those two programs were complete shytshows and guaranteed Ws every week.
Recruiters wouldn't have wanted to work for that bum lolFlorida should have stuck with a Mullen and made him hire some recruiters
He got them to #1 in the nationWhat did he ever do there?
For like 3 weeks, and for beating Auburn, texas a&m, and LSU (both who were overrated when they played Ms State. Both ended with 5 losses). He got them to #1 in the nation
Mississippi State
Having done his thing? You mean consistentoy having trash offenses, Clock mismanagement, and underachieving?Ok, but then you can't really compare Les and Mullen whole careers from that standpoint.
Les was at the tail end of his career at Kansas, after having done his thing at LSU for about a decade.
In terms of pure accomplishments, Les is way ahead of Mullen, having won a national title and played in another one, and winning the SEC twice.
Mullen's accomplishments as a HC is more comparable to Clay Helton, both coached in a few NY6 bowls, won a big one once (Mullen beat UVa in the orange, Clay beat penn state in the rose bowl) and also got humiliated in one (Both got smoked in the cotton bowl). Clay at least has won a P5 conference title before.
They finished 10-2For like 3 weeks, and for beating Auburn and LSU (both who were overrated when they played Ms State. Both ended with 5 losses).
Solid wins, sure. how did that team finish?
If being ranked #1 for a few weeks is accomplishing anything then Josh Heupel should get a ring for 2022.
Even at the time people knew that that ranking was a joke.
They beat 3 teams that ended with 5 losses to get that #1 ranking. And got smoked by Paul Johnson. They finished 10-2
And no people didn’t think it was a joke. People just knew it didn’t matter until they played Alabama.
They did notThey lost 4 games that year
Got to disagree here. Dan isn't a winner. Plain and simple. Look at the Shoe Game against LSU in 2020. He's a choker and a loser. Decent play caller, but a below average head coach and terrible program manager/CEO who will never win anything of significance. If Dan Mullen takes over for Saban at LSU and gets 10-12 years he definitely at least has two Nattys.
Yeah I was wrong there. They lost 3.They did not
Muiltple 10 win season, as a LSU fans we legitimately had to worry about playing Miss st not the case anymoreWhat did he ever do there?
