I would say there's a pretty good chance that Bobby Witt Jr would get a monster deal if he wasn't locked up early.
Bobby Witt Jr, Ronald Acuna, and Fernando Tatis Jr...those three guys would probably get Ohtani/Soto money.

This is some bullshyt. They can already get this kind of production out of one of the farm arms. Anything other than re-signing Burnes at this point is complete failure for this market and what the team should be doing.

Get your shyt together Rubenstein.

Falling for this new era nonsense out here acting just like the Angelos Family

I'm a clown a for believing these motherfukkers are trying to win.

If the stories are true, Elias needs to be fired

I actually kind of respect that mission but not sure it will work.
It's stuff like this

"[The] vision for the Orioles—which the source described as a “vanity project” for Elias—is to build a team that serves as the antithesis to teams like the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers and prove that an organization can be built from the ground up, rather than purchased through free agency," adds Palmer.

The team Won the division and got to the playoffs a year maybe even 2 years early. Vision worked to break the drought, Now it's time to get over the hill and that means spending money. The O's haven't won a world series since 1983

They had a 15 year playoff drought from 97 to 2012.

They had a solid run 2012-2016 and then fell right back into mediocrity.

They aren't going to keep getting lucky and landing phenoms and shyt. Win while you can.

It's generally good when an owner lets the people he hires do their jobs but there is a point where you need to step in. This is one of those situations. And Elias isn't even the new owner's guy, so it shouldn't be an issue to fire him.

If he genuinely wants to spend and Elias is refusing to do so, fire that bozo now. Call Burnes and bring him back on the number he wants and hire a new GM that is serious about winning. NOBODY wins strictly through the draft and internal development. That is pure fantasy.

I don't blame you one bit for being as mad as I am about the Tigers and the O's are even closing to winning it all than Detroit.

I couldn't be on their analytics staff. I'd get fired for always being like

"SPEND the GOT DAMN MONEY!!!!!"

:damn::damn::damn:

I respect the mission, but at the end of the day if the owner wants to spend money, it's his team and Elias is just an employee. Extend some of these young homegrown stars
I mean they been a playoffs team 2 years in a row and it's not like he hasn't signed anybody. This could be a reporter trying to kick up dust. Who knows what he and the GMS relationship is.

But he hasn't signed anybody that's a major difference maker. :dahell:

The only notable addition was trading for Burnes, who it looks like they're gonna let walk.

All their young guys are under team control for years. Gunnar isn't a free agent until 2029. All their key players are cheap right now. This is exactly the time to splurge in free agency.

The Pitcherlist guy might be spicing up the story.

But there isn't any reason the O's shouldn't have been a player for Burnes/Fried/or Snell.

I get they like hoarding their farm. Cause you can't always guarantee the trades play out. Like right now the Trevor Rogers deal is still looking sketch as fukk. Even though Norby and Stowers were blocked they pulled the trigger and it may have backfired. But the Eflin deal turned out better than expected. I'm not sold on what Crochet was worth, but it makes me better understand the things teams want for arms. The O's probably should've sold Jackson et. al for Skubal. I still think Jackson is likely going to be a superstar, but holding him when he probably has lost value for the long haul may be a long term net negative. If it meant having control over Skubal and the ability to re-sign Burnes. And stack money for Gunnar you gotta make the deal.
