Astros outside of Altuve and Alvarez don't pay their stars crazy money.
The biggest thing I keep hearing is that Crane won't do term beyond six years.

They basically have a standing offer for Bregman to match Chapman's contract but Bregman wants more years.

No it’s not , The cubs gave up more to Tampa for parades

Smith was just drafted in June the cubs have several prospects more advanced and better. Wesneski been a shuttle player up n down to triple a since acquired he has decent stuff but can’t locate it and gives up mad hr’s. Paredes mid af

For 1 year of an injury prone player who is definitely going to test the market. Are the Cubs going all in now for the year?

so the astros are too cheap to pay for tucker? so puzzling for a young player

so bellinger is gone?
That’s kind of our MO, we weren’t touching that Soto contract. Tucker was on pace for an mvp before his injury and was going to want at least $500mil in free agency. We were after Isaac HEAVY from the Rays at the deadline before the Cubs overplayed for him. With this trade it gives us leverage over Bregman to let him walk and put Isaac at 1b and Hope Smith is ready for 3b. We get to ease him into the lineup since we have the ability to platoon Dubon with Smith Isaac And Singleton between 1b and 3b.

I’ll be interesting if Bergman walks as well, I don’t know if there’s a huge market for him for a long term deal. He seems like a 4 year deal type of guy

I didn't notice that Tyler O'Neill signed with the Orioles.
He's a decent bat.

Random: I remember when Josh Rojas was absolutely raking at AAA. Stinks that he didn't work out. I know everyone seems to crush it in the PCL but still.

Nick Pivetta is a bit under the radar. I get why teams are shying away from him. They probably don't want to lose a draft pick since he rejected a qualifying offer. But even at 32 he was still solid.
