When are we getting an in-season-tournament? :lupe:

I also want goofy uniform selections, ie. Yanks wearing pinstripes at Fenway Pak. :lawd:

F*ck it, go full goofy, Yanks playing at Fenway as the home team in pinstripes, using the 1st base dugout, with two golden batters and unlimited relievers
full

For all the crap that the NBA is getting for load management, MLB has been engaging in load management for 40 years now.
The MLB all star game has already degenerated into a series of 1 inning, 1 at bat appearances.

If they're going to add an in-season tournament, expect it to be treated with the same level of importance and intensity that the All Star Game is...which is to say...no importance at all.

You can't even have the novelty of AL teams playing NL teams because that went away with Interleague Play 25 years ago.

A friend told me that Juan Soto informed the Yankees they will have the last look at trying to sign him.

I haven't seen any news articles confirming this. But I would be surprised if this was true.

Stop lying you read that tweet from Feinsand who is writing opinion pieces as factual reporting.

He said " i think they think" to start that BS.

Yes you do because all you Yankee fans are nervous but you have no reason to be 750m for him is a massive overpay that wont end well for whoever signs it...

I went in the messages and I actually got it at 3:12pm. My concept of time is fukked up.
But I'm saying tho

Also I'm on record here many times as saying I don't think the Yankees keep Soto.
They need him to remain contenders. They have a ton of holes even with him. But without him they're not even a 90-win team.

Judge was an overpay.

Rodon was a failed signing from the moment he put ink to paper.

At the end of the day, this team doesn't have the faith of the public to be able to pivot off this and still have a chance to win a title. Once Soto leaves, the Judge/Cole window to win a title ends and the next one won't come til they care to let Dominguez play and they don't really wanna do that because they think they're above playing young guys.

Theres plenty of other targets that can be had multiple ones for alot less that would make a team formidable (Teo Santander Fried Bregman) You land 2 of those + a pitcher youre in business and those cotnracts combined wont cost you 750...I understand the value of Ohtani at 700 off the field its not the same for Soto ON or OFF....i dont thnk the Jays are getting him and im glad theyre not its a waste of resources....Ive advocated go get 1 fo Fried or Burnes and get 2 hitters of the plethora of ones out there and youre back in business you dont need Soto at that assinine cost....My fear is by luck Soto chooses them at 800-825m they wont spend a dime anywhere else and its A-Rod on the Rangers all over again...

Didn't have the Sacramento A's signing sevi on my bingo card, and to the largest contract in A's history on top of that.

The Metropolitan pitching lab is top notch. Too bad we didn't have it during the Wheeler, deGrom, Harvey days

Nothing against Severino going for the money, but that's a retirement contract. He gonna go over there and be 10-14 with a 3.90 ERA and collect paychecks under the radar, zero pressure, just living life easy...

the bolded is untrue.

Soto in NY would make that money back instantaneously for the same reasons Ohtani would do it in LA. What's the last superstar Dominican player in NY? A-Rod when it was convenient?

Of any of those targets, none of them have the kind of clutch gene Soto has (I know you'll mention Teoscar, but Teoscar has always owned the Yankees. He got the best matchup humanly possible for him). Once Soto leaves, Judge goes back to RF, so all you're looking for is a LF.

I think the Mets can pivot off not getting Soto pretty well. The Jays probably could too. Red Sox have a bunch of youngins they'll play when they're ready. The Yankees would stand to lose their leadoff hitter and 2nd bat from the postseason with no one really to replace them. Soto at $700 is a better deal than Judge at half the price because now in the playoffs you have to carry Judge to a title.

I'm not mad at him getting money, I'm just surprised they are spending anything since they are homeless for the next few years
