One flaw of baseball is that the best players don't always settle things in the final inning. It's the only sport that can say this.
I'm not dismissing the purity aspect of this and needing 1-9 to contribute but from a purely entertainment standpoint, this sucks. Juan Soto hits a three run HR in the bottom of the eighth to bring his team within two but he's not gonna hit in the ninth takes some air out of the moment.
This would make the games much more fun during the regular season, which is an absolute slog.

It's not a flaw.
You have a team for a reason and there is so much variance in baseball you can't even guarantee a big moment even if you try to rig it.
We just saw Aaron Judge flop all goddamn October. If this stupid ass idea was in place you'd have likely just seen MORE failures out of this guy and this dumb ass golden bat idea would look even more fukkin stupid.
Part of the magic of sports is that you never know what is going to happen or who is going to rise to an occasion.

the latest NFL tweak completely changed the kick off. the game is completely different.
